EDIT: You could try holding down all the hardware buttons at the same time when you boot the phone up, I would think one of them would work.

I've tried holding the power button and volume up, then tried it with volume down. I'll try it with each of the hardware buttons. I wonder if the online manual has any info on a hard reset? Thank for helping me out, I appreciate it.

That brought up the boot loader but it only says "battery ok ok to program connect usb data cable"

No problem, I updated my last message with this. While the phone is shut off hold down the camera button, volume button, and then the power button. Hold that for a couple of seconds then let go. Let me know how that works. Or tell me what screen you are seeing? You will either see the hard reset there or after that you will have to hold the search button and the power button.

What about when the phone is turned off and you press the search and the power button? I honestly don't know what else to try, I am sorry that this isn't working for you.

The phone just turns on as it normally would, thanks again for the assistance.

Sorry I couldn't have been of an assistance, hard to trouble shoot a phone I don't have yet. Can you download apps with wifi on? Also you are logged into your gmail account, correct?
 
OK, update, You have to hold down "home" and "power" to get into the reset. After that I'm able to download apps. Sweeeet!!! Thanks for the help Wolfdude88.
