Robo...maybe you can settle my confusion on the Sprint guarantee. I absolutely love my EVO, however I have bad light leakage from the capacitive buttons and want to replace it. I bought mine at Best Buy and the kicker is that there are none in stock in the entire area. My 30 days is coming up, and I don't want to lose the leverage of being able to cancel the contract if Sprint tries to give me a refurbished or repaired phone, which is not acceptable right at the start of my contract. I'm perfectly happy canceling and falling back to my Verizon cell until supplies come in...but I thought there was a 90 day(?) waiting period before you can order a new phone at the new customer discount rate. Is this not the case?Well you right, but wrong in my case. I cancelled my service 2 days ago with in the 30 days (and lost my number). Last night I ordered a brand new ($300 have to mail in the rebate) EVO. So yes my 30 days will start over the day I activate the phone.![]()
I mean it is what it iss.. jus look at the forums. People all over the world is having lots of minor issues with there evo. I know every new phone does but evo has stupid issues that shouldn't even be a issue to start with. I know u love ur evo and all but ur a little to defensive when it comes to criticisism. I know u have minor stupid issues with urs, as everybody elseWould you please return yours? I'm assuming you are posting from it, and I can tell you, something is wrong with your keyboard.
To OP: Unless the galaxy is a possibillity for you (as a want), I would go now. Nothing is needed on this phone that would make me wait. If you have one of the issues (such as your screen), that is what warranty/insurance is for.

Hi All,
I am going to be switching from my Blackberry 9700 to an EVO and am wondering if I should wait a month until the phones being sold have the screen glue / light leakage problem taken care of. Is it safe to assume that the longer I wait, the higher the chances are of getting a problem-free phone?
I'd love to go out and buy a phone today, but patience might be a better bet. Any input? I assume hardware version 0003 is still the latest?
Apologies that there is a similar post, this is supposed to be more for whether people think waiting for 0004 would be a good idea![]()

So just disregard other's useless theories on the psychology of forum postings and

@Lierbertron: So by your logic, what is your post? More bitching and other issues coming out? I'm not sayin'.....I'm just sayin'.
Hate to burst your bubble, but there are also thousands of phones that are NOT FINE. The light leakage isn't just about cosmetics, it's about a faulty adhesive connecting the screen that will just get worse over time. It's about taking care of the problems NOW before getting a refurb or wasting an insurance claim. It's about paying a premium price for premium technology that is 100% satisfactory - nothing less.
Funny, I've learned those facts by reading forums and experiencing my own problems along the way. I probably wouldn't know to take action any other way, would I?
Aaaaaanyway, the fact remains that HW0003 seems great and without issues. So just disregard other's useless theories on the psychology of forum postings and

DO IT. And again, WELCOME TO ANDROID!![]()

I'm not interested in a Samsung phone or a slider, but I am concerned about getting a quality EVO. I'll probably wait - I just don't know how long it will take for a version 4 or 5 to come out with all of these problems eradicated!
im rocking my launch phone for the past 30 days, no problems. version 0002
