"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

I am patiently waiting for more clues for #6 the florida x. Hopefully its here in the tampa area but ill drive down to miami if needed haha
 
I've even been out there with infrared cameras, night vision, and more. The thing I have to keep telling myself is, I don't think they are gonna put it out in the open where just some random pedestian or grounds keeper will just pick it up not even looking for it so there is way more to it than just wandering around looking, or just not there!
 
Well its got to be somewhere protected by the elements. Doesn't have to be inside, just protected. So you might not see it unless you were right up on it. I still don't really think its there due to TMS being a sprint samsung thing, but it can't hurt to look

I think your in a good area. FL is huge and PR supports FL pretty heavily as discussed already. At least 1 near you.

I was almost certain one would be in Huntsville even before the dixie and rocket clues. Huntsville = tech, Alabama by itself, not so much!

I'm going to try to go up to Harborfest/Tall ships (which are docked behind the RHOF) at end of the week. I'm hoping that there will be a Verizon booth at Harborfest. I'll just ask to speak to droidlanding.
As far as "Rock and a hard place" referring to the Science Center, has any of the Cleveland hunters looked at the Firefighters memorial on the south west corner of the property? I know it's kind of far fetched but zoom up in google maps. Looks like an "Eye".

When I first saw that statue on Google Maps I thought it was a couple of guys in diving suits battling a sea monster... :p
 
Well miami has beaches and fun things. Nice weekend adventure for the wife and I. If I can also get a droid x too that's just icing on the cake

I drove about 150 miles each way going to huntsville. The wife and i had fun. Plus, if i had found the phone, it would have been way cheaper than paying retail. I am no where near my upgrade date.

went to the crooked part of lombard st n walked up n down...saw nothing around.

then i went coit tower, walked arround and insdie the gift shop, saw nothing. used the paay telescopes to look toward lombard and saw a red balloon in a window, but nothing good.
went to the supposed cybernettic lab address which was a parking lot, saw nothing.
finnally went to another lab on townsend, but it was a locked bldg...nothing around.
i had a good feeling at first, but that faded.

Lol. I prolly saw you. I left my house (2 hours from San Francisco) 6 minutes after they posted the message about lombard street..

I drove end to end each way 3 times.. God I hate that hill! Went to coit tower, asked the Asian guy working the gift shop if he new anything about designate #3, he looked at me like I was an idiot. Checked the pay telescope as well.. Tried the Verizon store on lombard, it was closed, looked all over and through the windows for a note. Only car parked near it was a beat up old van so I didn't think that was it.. We even walked into the Radio Shack on Lombard, again nothing.. I got my wife to let me out on our last trip down and went inside the two open houses that were going on, nothing!

We tried driving off a number of the side streets of Lombard, checked billboards, buses, bus stops and vehicles and saw absolutely nothing!!! There was at least 10 ads for the Evo on Lombard but nothing for the X not even in the window of the Verizon store. All in all I'm pretty disappointed but at least my wife was a great sport about the whole thing!

Krichek, if I had drug my wife though all that and found the phone....well suffice to say I would have had it for about as long as it took me to get back inside the car. As it is my wife says she's going to steal it for herself if I bring it home

Lol, my wife was a great sport about the whole thing.. She is the one that said we should go on an adventure as all our kids are gone today.. Plus she knows she is going to get my old Droid whenever I replace it for something new, which makes her happy as her Eris has been pissing her off more and more lately..

Funny thing is, I planned to hit the store 1st but sidetracked to the crooked part and never looked back. At Coit, I asked the guy outside selling ice cream and he was so clueless. I was there about 1:30 at Lombard and then went to Coit. No idea really where it would be w/o folks seeing it or it getting ruined unless it is wrapped up tight. I think it has to be obvious to the hunters but not so much for regular folks...out till tomorrow. Happy hunting!
 
Has anyone given any more thought to the people that droidlanding is following? At first they were following, what it seemed like to me, companies (Western Digital, Tiger Direct, etc.). Now it seems that they are following individuals. What do you think? I was thinking locations, where these people are from? I don't know, just a thought. I even replied to a couple tweets just to see if they started following me.

We have had a ton of people check for #12 in cleveland....what are we missing? we have all checked the rock hall, hard rock, science center, ... idk what else to do unless we wait for more clues? .... their is a town just west of cleveland....rocky river? idk...

i also noticed @droidlanding is following this guy @GregRiosVZW who is located in cincinnati
 
I was even thinking that "Rock and a Hard Place" might be referring to Cleve=rock, Cinci=hard place, which would put it in Columbus. Thoughts?

very possible......even with it being the "buckeye" state......id say if its not in cleveland then its got to be in columbus....or on rockside rd :)

Ha...I'm about 5 min. from Rockside Rd. It would still be a hell of a search since Rockside is pretty long. Lots of places to search.
