LoL .. no I am literally asking if it was?? .. I've been reading so many articles and blogs I am not sure?? I've seen both $569 & $599 mentioned, so somehwere between $569-$599 would be a safe bet.
The full retail price is $569.99. A vzw rep confirmed it with me.

Man, I've received some tricky questions in this thread!
Well, have you checked in to see if you are eligiable for the early smartphone upgrade? I would check into that first Verizon - Early smartphone upgrade for feature phone users
If that isn't applicable then we can move onto other options.
Are you trying to keep your number? If you are, canceling the line will automatically lose it, never to be seen again =/
The best way to approach it might be to call verizon and have your account switched to a month to month plan. Not prepaid. They will ding you for the ETF, you will keep your number, but you will be eligible to come in on the 15th and get the 199.99 pricing on the phone.
If you add a line, then cancel the old one, that will work, but you will have a brand new number.
Hope that clears it up for you![]()
So at this point, here's my question: when I go into BBY on the 15th, should I be prepared to do anything special to make sure that the folks there honor the early upgrade (it's store 269 in Springfield, VA, if anyone here works there)? I don't want to hold up the line by going through ten more rounds with Verizon while I'm there, and want to keep everything as painless as possible for the BBY mobile folks. When you see someone "flagged for early upgrade," is there anything you're looking for?
Thanks again (I apologize for the length of this post)!
I'm assuming we still don't have the Best Buy 1-year or full price yet?
I haven't seen anyone post it yet. Nor did I remember to ask the best buy chick when I called my local store to confirm that they were doing preorders. When she told me they weren't, I figured I no longer want to dick around with Best Buy anyway.
I sure hope someone else starts taking preorders soon.
Confirmed $569.99 - Verizon Wireless Droid Scavenger Hunt
It may be more at best buy the original droid was 579.99 with vzw and 599 at bestbuy
Question for the BB Mobile guy,
Do/Can you guys credit VZW accounts for the purchase of the phone or do guys work with cash only? I do believe some folks can get the phone credited to the account rather than buying...<is this true>

No, you have to pay for the phone up front. The phones are Best Buy inventory not Verizon, so we have to ring them out right away.
I asked this is another thread before I saw this one, but I wanted to be clear. Is it confirmed that Best Buy will allow you to sign a 1-year contract as a new customer? In the other thread where I asked, i was told that I'd have to go to a corporate store to do that. But reading back in this thread, it appears that Best Buy may also let you do it, though we don't know the price yet?
Is it just a case by case basis with each best buy store, or is there a policy on this?
what horror stories have you heard? I've had verizon for 10+ years and never had a problem
Is Best Buy going to be opening early on the 15th for the folks who preordered or is determined on a store by store basis?
