Sony Playstation 1 (PSX) on Android working and coming soon!

Anyone who has direct contact with him, would you mind asking about multiplayer support with wiimotes or bluetooth gamepads. That would be so amazing. The HD2 has it so it seems possible.

Cannot wait for this release zodttd, I have always been a very big fan of you're work, especially on the iPhone. Very well done!

Yong has replied to a member at another forum about the development.

He says he only has to fix the crashes on the HTC legend and he's done!
Then he just has to publish it to the market.

I'm sure he will fix that issue very soon, because he's already done it with gameboid.

got my wii mote ready and waiting to play FF7 and a few other amazing games frome my childhood. Hopfully a N64 emu is next. i he did that it would be an uterly amazing task.

N64 is coming afterwards.
Zod knows what he is doing and it will have GPU support.
Apparently N64 is hard to emulate, but he has/knows something other devs don't to make it uber.

Update:
There has been a slight delay on psx4droid because Zod cannot contact Yong live due to them being in different time zones....

Wow this is amazing news. I have an EVO and I am going to go start getting roms right now! Great work Zod! I bought all the emus on my iPhone 3gs and that was the reason it was so hard for me to let go of it but the evo was just so much better and I knew that these would be coming soon to android! I just wish the wiimote worked with htc sense :( but i'll take the onscreen keyboard!

How is he going to publish it on the market?

If it includes a PSX BIOS dump which will be needed then it will get removed in seconds.

I guess it will go down the same route as other PSX emulators where the app is supplied and you are on your own with regards the BIOS :p

That's how he did it with Gameboid so I have no reason to believe that it will be any different for the PSX emu.

This is awesome. You guys are forgetting some classics. Bushido Blade, Tenchu, Lunar: , Grandia, Parappa the Rapper, Driver, Vagrant Story, Resident Evil 2, Symphony of the Night, man, this thing will keep me busy.

PSX is a tad easier to emulate than Dreamcast and N64. I would guess we are dual cores away from a decent chance of halfway decent DC and N64 emulation.

Even PSX emulation will be iffy. Mainly simple games like 2d shooters and some basic 3d games will be best bet for playable.

Seems more value getting a great MAME or Finalburn emulator so thousands of games available and less space than PSX games. Current arcade emulators worked great with a keyboard, but no multi touch support.

Emails to both devs have been zero response to add multi touch for Jarcade and Arcade. Also the turbografx emu has no multi-touch by one of the same devs.

Well my Snapdragon-toting HD2 was able to emulate PSX games fullspeed with sound, nothing iffy about it, so I'm optimistic that high end Android handsets should also be able too.

PSX won't be a problem based on what Zod has said. Same with N64. I'm not holding my breath for DC :p
