Sony Playstation 1 (PSX) on Android working and coming soon!

Yeah dreamcast is a big stretch, though there is a nulldc project on the pandora handheld it probably wouldn't run as well on an android system since pandora doesnt have as much to run on the OS so the performance would be better, zod said he was going to look into it with the devs of the project though. its in one of the questions and answers here http://www.formspring.me/zodttd and you can also see other questions and answers to zod.

they think it'll be out this week as theu have apparantly submitted the app to be included in the app market.

I guess it will go down the same route as other PSX emulators where the app is supplied and you are on your own with regards the BIOS :p

i had it for 3 years and am never deleting it.
 
I finally got a PS2 emulator working on my PC so I'll have FFX to keep me occupied until this releases.

Although I should start prepping my SD card with a PSX bios and some select ROMs....

Well of course ;)

But it would not help sales of the emulator if it isn't included i'm guessing. Unless the app just includes a link to suggested places to find said BIOS :p
 
hmm, well i think it was either the desire or legend that zod or yong said was having trouble working. after a few minutes it would force close.

I asked him about the "things that needed to be added" according to Zod.
Here's what he said.
"Yes. It's to fix the crash on some phones, like HTC Legend. I don't want users to be annoyed with this bug."
I think this was one of the issues the Legend had with the other emus, so he must know what he's doing.
Its just further cementing the release date of a week or two.

I really don't understand the point of introducing something amazing like a playstation emulator for Android... and then taking about a year to release it. Listen... android users are tired of crappy games. We have like... nothing. I gave away my iPod Touch when I bought my EVO... but I remember having pages upon pages of quality games and never could decide what to play. On my EVO.... I have a folder with... some games.... most of which are pretty bad. I do love my emulators though....

All I hear about is...

ANGRY BIRDS COMING SOON...
PEGGLE\POPCAP GAMES COMING SOON....
PSX EMULATOR COMING SOON...

For **** sake, just tell me when it's out so I can be excited and go play them. Having to wait endlessly for anything good makes me hate this platform for gaming that much more.

Now... I appreciate your hard work developers... but from now on, keep yo trap shut til you're done!

i dont know about you but i think asphalt 5 is pretty darn good as well as exzeus, fifa 10, crusade of destiny, raging thunder, armageddon squadron, winds of steel, heavy gunner... and thats only the ones i have in my phone (i actually have more), and im pretty sure there are plenty more.. all of them been 3d graphics games.. and if you go to gamelofts webside, there are some more cool games, like prince of persia, hawx, nova, and more..
so i dont know what your problem, i think there are plenty of games, of course is not the same amount that u could find on the apple store, but then again deves have been making games for apple for years.
may i ask what games do you have in your phone? do you own the ones i said?

holy crap, second post ive seen that doesnt include Super Smash Bros. No one else play that amazing game?

Gameloft games are out for both the iPod touch and Android... and sadly, they run smoother on my iPod Touch than they do on my EVO. Probably due to the higher resolution screen... but meh. The EVO is a pretty slow phone for 3D graphics... and 3D games are usually boring as they can only have so much gameplay built as the controls are complex as it is.

Crusade's gameplay is pretty shallow. The 3D is nice, but it's like an extremely watered down MMO. Walk up to animal... press attack button repeatedly. It wasn't FUN. Just... technologically cool I guess.

I played asphalt 5 on my iPod Touch. Nothing new there. Raging Thunder is pretty much the same thing. I don't even like racing games... just played Asphalt because it was kinda cool to have a 3D racing game.

Exzeus is also technologically cool as well... but gameplay is kinda meh. Those 2D overhead plane games are more fun than exzeus.

The breadth of games that I liked on my iPod Touch were all 2D. Sentinal\2, Ninja Defense, Angry Birds, Peggle, Plants vs Zombies, Orbital (friction on Android is... bad), Field Runners (Robo Defense is also pretty bad), Cartoon Defense, Knight's Onrush, Meteor blitz (zomg amazing), Zoosiz (best platformer I've ever played on a handheld)... the list goes on for miles.

What sucks is... I hate the iOS platform and LOVE Android.

I am with you on that, I use to have a iPhone 3GS before i traded it in for a Moto Droid, then now rocking a HTC Evo

But there is hope, psx emulator is almost here, which could almost made up for the lack of games on Android Market when compare to App store. Plus you can always get ZENONIA (if you are into rpg, although i do wish ZENONIA 2 is here already since i already beat ZENONIA on my iPhone) to hold you over till psx emulator arrives.

thats because of the dedicated gpu performance.. on the N1 froyo helps a lot this games.. but for gaming i guess the best option would be the galaxy s or droid x

i guess your ideal gaming experience is totally diffent to mine.. cause games like robo defence or engry birds get boring after a while (to me).. when "mission" games like crousade are very entretaining to me
