Sony Playstation 1 (PSX) on Android working and coming soon!

id like to hear reviews about it on the DINC before i decide to but it. 6$ although not really expensive for all the programming/work that went into it is more than im willing to pay for my 'very!' casual gaming at the moment.

Tell me, have you ever payed $6 for a combo meal at a fast-food restaurant? Is a burger, fries and coke worth more to you than a psx emulator on your phone?

Mhm, that's what I thought.

Will be downloading soon. And i got chrono cross on my laptop already. Will download more games now to. Thanks ZodTDD

LOL, yes i know. ive told myself that several times as well.
- but there is a big difference between needing to eat and wanting to play psx on my phone once or twice a month.

i will probably end up buying it within a week or so but i would like to hear someone comment on its controls first.

Controls are great (using the game gripper at least ^^)

Since the FF7 multidisc eboot failed to load, I'm now xferring over my backup isos. Although I'm curious how this emulator handles save files and switching disks.

edit1: Watching the opening FMV... epic!

edit2: screenshots!

that looks really sweet!
still worried about on screen controls.
gba has only D-pad, start, select, L, R, A, B. and that gets a little cramped on the screen.

PSX we all know has 4 more buttons.

Only problem with the emulator is that you can't map R2 or L2, only R1 and L1. Makes Twisted Metal unplayable lol.

I'm sure that'll get fixed in a day orso.

i'm a bit confused. what does it mean when it tells me to specify a bios file when i first load it?

edit: oh, nvm. i had to load it onto the sd card first.

Completely unplayable at all refresh rates on an overclocked EVO running Android 2.2 (Froyo). Games all run in slow motion.

Tried:
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Final Fantasy 7
Chrono Cross

I haven't tried with a nunchuck. I use wiimote + wiimote classic using the wiimote controller app from the market (its free). Wont work on some phones. You should research that first.

strange, it's completely playable (in fact, it runs better than my netbook does!) on my Droid.

This is great, but im a 16 year old who owned the original playstation and misses it alot. Its a shame im stick with "BEHOLD 2" which has 1.6>PSX. I feel like im missing out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are those ROMs really compressed or something? That's kind of hard to believe because he must've tested it on the N1 or comparable Snapdragon device.

I know the Adreno is kinda weak, but it should still do PSX :p

No problems here on the DX, except like a couple second audio slowdown every 5 mins or so, but totally amazing for a first version!

where r u guys getting a working ff7? ive tried two seperate files and upon loading, just get a blank screen.

Well, I got mine from here:

Ripped my disc using Alcohol 52%

lol, the discription of these emulators really need to let people know they should understand how emulators and roms work before purchasing the app.

does anyone know of a good walkthrough for people who dont have experience with ROMS and EMUS???

maybe i can find one tomorrow if no-one else has yet.

Can someone please explain to me how to freaking download a game for this thing? I'm about to throw my nexus through a window.

RIP your original discs to your computer and retain the .img file (just chuck it on your SD card under ROMS for easy location.)

I'm uploading a video if anyone would like to see Crash Bandicoot 1 run on a N1 with sound.

The sound is a little slow, but the game is playable.

I've only ripped Crash Bandicoot and Crash Team Racing so far, but will rip Tekken 3 and Grand Turismo later on.

CAN CONFIRM: Crash Team Racing does NOT run on a Nexus One. The game is stuck at the Sony entertainment Presents screen, I hear talking, but no visuals. :(

And yes, this is the real copy of the game.
