I already bought Rom Manager to donate, but when bluetooeh, camera and mms work I'm buying Koush another beer.

Only major issue I've run into thus far is the camera not working. While charging the phone, the indicator is green instead of amber. Anyone else seeing this?
I really want to try this but I have two concerns. I'm wondering if this rom manager you all are talking about will solve them. I'd like to be able to restore my phone to stock 2.1 with sense. Does rom manager have a way of doing this. Is their a guide that will tell me the steps. Can I use rom manager to backup all my apps that are installed right now then use it to reinstall after updating to cyanogen mod 6.
so... this is what I've done and it doesn't seem to work.
1) I paid $4 for ROM Manager premium.
2) installed Clockwork Recovery
3) tried to make a backup of my current ROM, however when it reboots I just get a phone icon with a red question mark above it. After a few seconds it reboots normally. It seems the Clockwork recovery thing doesn't work. I renamed the 'clockwork' folder on my SD card, and redownloaded it, same problem. I tried an older version of Clockwork Recovery, same problem.
Am I doing something wrong? BTW - I am rooted.

Because of the NAND flash chip in the Incredible you cannot flash recovery while the phone is booted. You HAVE to use the unrevoked flash tool to do it.

After using the flash tool ROM Manager will work like you are intending.

Not sure how it works with just the free version but with Rom Manager Donate select DownloadRom/CyanogenmodNightlies/CM6 click download and check Google Apps. Then when the Rom Installation window pops up check both "backup existing rom" and "wipe data and cache". It will then boot to recovery and perform a complete backup of your device, wipe your device and then install CM.
After it boots and you have had a chance to play around with CM you can boot back to recovery and restore your complete backup within just a few minutes time and when your phone reboots it will be like nothing every happened, IF you wanted to go back.
With the Motorola Droid you could create a complete backup, wipe, flash a new ROM, the boot back to recovery and do an advanced restore selecting only the DATA partion to restore all your apps and info. I assume you can do the same on the Incredible but I have never tried and probably won't.
Whenever I flash a ROM I wipe everything and start completely from scratch to be certain if there are any bugs or problems that they are not from leftover junk or restored from a previous ROM.
Titanium backup seems to be largely popular for restoring your DATA after a flash. I tried it once and didn't like it, but that was the free version. The donate version is supposed to be leagues better. I believe it is a $5 donation, or used to be anyways. EDIT, its $3.99.

Im having trouble getting it to run. did a wipe and installing the zip but it hangs on android boot screen. Any Suggestions? I will buy ROM manager as soon as I get my CC working again.
I got it. I re-wiped it and re-installed it. But where do I get the marketplace from. that must be in google apps pack correct?
Yes. You need to install the Google Apps add on.

u need to slap that sucker on there... they dont come with anything

Imma wait until all bugs are worked out ro flash this again. sky raider, although it is not on the same awesomenes level as cm6, is a better dAily driver if you want a mostly bugpess froyo, although camera isnt supported eitherWhich probably won't be far off. Hell, Kroush already has the screen tearing bug pinned down. I wish I had 1/100th of his knowledge.
Sounds like the biggest reported bugs at this point are Bluetooth, Camera, some Contacts issues, auto brightness, and possibly some GPS.
