"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

I'm pretty sure La La Land is referring to Los Angeles. The part I don't get is that yesterday there was a clue for #2 indicating 4 days and today there is one indicate 2 days. I'm guessing yesterday's was a day late.

I wish they would post a video of the guy who got it yesterday and the girl who got it today.

I hope we see a fight over one of those certificates.

They may have legal hurdles to cross before they can post video of the museum... you're not even supposed to be able to take pictures in there.

I went there on my last trip to LA. Food was great

More ideas on La La Land?:)

I don't think there is anything else to read into that clue other than #2 is in Los Angeles.

I asked @DroidDecoder about the timing for #1 and it replied that it looked like #1 would be sometime between July 15 and July 20. I wrote back and asked how that could be with the contest ending on the 15th, but it hasn't responded. This whole thing is just a big mess that is clearly disorganized. I know some of you are mad about it and frankly, I can't blame you. It's starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth. I mean, I still have a chance of finding one, but this whole thing where they gave a bunch of clues and then haven't given anymore for over a week and also only having one X a day be found is troubling...

If they do leave some til after the 15th (which is when it's supposed to be finished by in the official rules) then that will be just ridiculous.

Man it was hot over in miami today I'm glad they didn't decide to do number 6 today. So many people there for red bull flug tag.

I'm about an hour south of Los Angeles. The La La land tweet is referring to the city of Los Angeles and nothing more.

There won't be any specific location clues until its time to find it which in LA will be very tough with how spread out everything is. Hopefully they will give 2 or 3 location clues before the coordinates because it takes forever to get anywhere. If they do it like all the other ones it will just come down to whoever was lucky and guessed correctly ahead of time. There will be no possible way to get to where it is in time once they give the coordinates.

Technically, again, because of taxes and what happens when you begin to actually do something on this scale... (research corporate responsibility, business ethics, and past cases involving class action lawsuits against illegally run contests [past contest deadlines]...)

They're seriously sending themselves into hot water with this. And, if it meant a chance for a free Droid X...I'd jump right onto any lawsuit. lol Again, once we pass "11:59:59 ET on July 15, 2010" all of those legal disclaimers and tax values expire. The "Sponsor and its Parties" would be 100% liable for pretty muh anything, including if I accidentally crashed my car while participating in this contest. lol ^_~ I'm just saying...Verizon's legal department would fire the entire promotions department. lol

And legally irresponsible. They'd either have to amend the rules, making the whole contest questionable, or simply end it, and not give any more phones away, or create a new contest.

That's why I never thought it would be there. It won't be where another event is taking place. As the Verizon rep. said today, they were worried about being seen hiding the certificate. At any events with crowds that large...they won't be there.

may be we should file a complaint w/ the legal department now :D

better yet, wait until they give any Droid X's away after that time, and report it to the IRS. lol ^_~ They tend to get upset if it means less money in their pockets. lol

After all, without a legal APR on the "grand prize" you can claim it was only worth $1usd on your taxes, rather than $500+ that's a big difference. ^_~

But it was hella fun watching the event though. I don't no why they would give the farthest south besides hawaii clue and have it in tampa. I just hope its here cause I no my way around

Droid X designate #9 has a 4.3" screen as big as the Grand Ole' Opry. And it will be in that city in 3 days.

It's Nashville TN in 3 days!!

It might still be in Miami, just probably not in the middle of an event so large it's international. lol I've seen the commercials for that thing. It even has tour dates in Europe. lol I would assume there were thousands of people there. So far they've been given away in areas that seem to have moderate crowds, and as they get more publicity with each day that goes by...they'll have to adapt.

I won't pretend to ignore them if I see any reps before they've planted the certificate. I'll confront them and ask for it. lol

I worked for a few years as an LPO (loss prevention officer)...most (not all, but most) people look VERY obvious to the trained eye, when they are planning on doing something strange. It's all a simple matter of body language. When you're in a major theme park, in a store with 30+ tourists of all ages nd demographics....there's things they train you to look for that make it easy to spot someone getting ready to steal something. Catching someone stealing is the easy part. The only difficult part is catching them with the evidence concealed and if it's a minor, getting them back stage before the parents sees, which then causes a scene. Only twice as I ever able to flash my badge at a parent, and got them to shut up and quietly follow me, while I held their child by the arm. Both times were fathers. Mothers, never. They'll be idiots demanding you let go of their child. lol I've had to trespass and file charges against mothers for battery and impeding a criminal investigation before. ^_~

(I won't say which theme park company I worked for, but I will say that ALL of them in Central Florida employ under cover security, and Florida has many laws to protect them, thanks to all of that tourist tax revenue from the theme parks/resorts. ^_~ If you plan on stealing from them...do so at your own risk. They'll prosecute and trespass anyone, for even low dollar amounts.)
