"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

so DC today, LA, Detroi and Minneapolis tomorrow. One would like to think the weekend would reveal multiple phones/day rather than during the work week. But I can only guess the VZW and MOTO folks don't want to pay too much overtime. Cheap bastards!!!!

I've got a friend in Orlando, ugh this is my last chance, and the odds that #6 is found by someone that hasn't even been following this goes up everyday, Im still aggravated at the way vzw/moto did this so called scavenger hunt! lol But IF I dont get 1 which isn't likely, I still have my wonderfully beautiful Incredible. :)

LOL I just found a great loophole for getting my Droid X at the 2-year price! My upgrade date isn't until 10/24/10 and my 2 year isn't until 2/24/11. So i'm not eligible for the early upgrade. That being said, after doing some digging, if you have family share, just add another line for $10 /month. You get your new Droid X for the 2-year price. Once that is done, you have them transfer the new Droid-y goodness over to your existing line. Wait until you contract is up on your number, and here is the tricky part, if your 2-year contract is up you can opt to have your recently ended contract (phone number) switched over to the newer account. Then you close your old account that now has the new number attached to it. I ran it by a Verizon rep just to see if they would do it. = Roundabout Loophole Achieved! :D

Yea my aunt and I are in almost the exact same situation date wise. The only difference is because she is the primary number she has a "hidden early upgrade" or something like that, and all she has to do is pay $20 to use it. The lady at Verizon said she could transfer the upgrade to my line. MY aunt wants to wait until October anyway (she's looking at the regular Droid b/c she needs a keyboard) so by then the Droid 2 should be out.

I also found out you can make appointments with the reps. So... I have an appointment at 9am with a nice girl named Rebecca :D. If you make an appointment for right when they open, the rep will wait for you for 10 minutes before assisting someone else. Even if i'm a couple of minutes late getting there, i'll have my sweet Rebecca waiting on me

Useful to know, thanks! I'll have to call the lady who helped us last time. (She gave us her business card)

but aren't you paying $10+ $29.99 for the required data package to get the Droid X on your Family Share added line?

Gotta be Orlando... Way more theme parks there than Tampa.
When you talk theme parks in Florida (heck even in general) most people's first thought would be Orlando.

Theme Parks in FL = Orlando
Dang it, should I go or not?? Two hours away...
Now, it would be really mess up if they hide it inside the theme parks

i dont think itll be inside the theme parks that makes it unfair, my guess is at either citywalk or downtown disney. my wife and i are driving over in the morning and camp out at a starbucks with our garmin and the laptop lol. the tweet says in 2 days the droid will be there is that including the day of the search making the search tomorrow or today and tomorrow making the search tuesday. i need to know which day to take off at work lol

GLTA (except other orlando hunters, hahaha)

Well, in my case I have 2 lines already. So, for my line i'm currently only paying $9.99. I have an older cell (no smartphone yet). But, if you already had a smartphone paying $30 + $10, then yes, you would have to pay another $40 per month for the new phone until your time is up. Not a perfect solution for everyone, but it works for me :)
