Root Unrevoked for Incredible (Recovery reflash tool/Easy root method)

This worked perfectly for me. Win 7 (x86)
I had the unrevoked driver still installed from previous root attempts. still had the sdk/tools from the previous attempts. Didnt really do anything but download and run. Verified root by installing adfree and lamppu, both work great.

Huge thanks to the unrevoked team. You are awesome!!!

I figured it out. I had to uninstall HTC sync. After that with the phone usb in, it found it again and installed the android driver, not the HTC driver. Then I tried it again and it worked perfect. So if you installed the HTC sync software, uninstall it and the HTC driver manager from the add/remove software program in the control panel. Do this all with the phone plugged in.

can anyone help. when I'm trying to download the drivers in the html file I keep getting android phone in device manager and not android 1.0. sorry for the stupid question and thanks!
Right mouse click on it and select uninstall drivers and check the delete software for this device. Unplug and reconnect the phone and you should get the Android 1.0.

Got my problem with TitaniumBackup fixed.

If anyone else is having problems with that, hit the "Problem?" button in Titanium and it will install BusyBox.

Works fully after.

if yall have HTC sync delete it or it wont work this has been covered before

Almost forgot that. The first time around, Unrevoked staff also mentioned the possibility of issues with PDAnet drivers as well. Mine went ok with it installed but just another thing to throw out there if you're still having troubles.

For those who cant get it to work all I had installed was whatever came with the 10 minute root video. I had uninstalled everything previously before I tried that one more time.

I have tried starting the "one-click" root from the unrevoked team. The process starts, but then it says communication was interrupted, and the phone says update.zip file not found. Am I supposed to download this update.zip file prior to attempting the root program? If so, where do I get this? Thanks!

Is there any way to unroot and get back the stock recovery after this is done? I don't want to do this with no way to return to "normal" in case a problem arises.

Followed everyones instructions and got root on the first try. Big thank you to the devs....... but, can anyone explain why I only have like half my pictures now? Seems like that's the only problem

The first thing didnt work but I'm not sure how to do the recovery flash thing. I'm new to root.

put it on your sd card... reboot into recovery by holding volume down and power then selecting recovery.... once in clockwork mod recovery select install zip from sd card.. then select chose zip from card.. find it the zip ans select it.. then reboot and see if that worked

Don't count on it. I wouldn't accept an ota from this day forward if you want root.

Agreed, and i dont plan on it...was just throwing the question out there. I could have sworn I read something about them having an exploit they wouldn't reveal so HTC/verizon couldn't patch it. I was wondering if this used that exploit...
