Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

I played with an X today. Meh.

On a completely unrelated note, Sprint is hosing me out of $200 wort of rebates. I went to Verizon to check what it would cost to move my wife/daughter over. It's 50% more expensive to go to Verizon and have LESS minutes. Dang
 
the x is so Meh. Its not smooth, htc sense kicks its ass, and other than a larger screen that makes it too big for many, there isn't any superior technology on it, and to say the HDMI is superior, i want to know how many people are playing Hi Def movies off of it.

I wouldn't be so certain Verizon/HTC are going to change the sku when they switch displays. In manufacturing form, fit and function determine whether part numbers change or the revision is bumped.

I work for a electronics manufacturer and we recently changed a LCD used in multiple products from a CCFL backlight LCD to an LED backlight LCD. The change also required a major redesign of the PCB's used in the products. Our SKU numbers to our customer's didn't change.

Since Verizon's website has changed the description of the Incredible

That microSD card would be a sku change. Think of it like a PS3, you have the base model sku and then another base model sku that comes with an extra game. Your customers need to be able to differentiate the two.

Continuing the example furuther, if Sony decides to change the processor from a 90nm to a 45nm. They deem the customer doesn't need to know or care about the change and will rev the sku number. Regardless of the fact that some customers may which version they get (heat, power consumption etc).

Personally I want my AMOLED:D. If the battery life is an issue with the AMOLED, it's going to be worse with TFT. Even though they said it would be the similar it's on the wrong side of similar.
 
ooooh i ordered mine on june 30th and verizon told me on the phone yesterday it would ship july 28th. it appears that i might get a few days earlier based on the last few posts. man it sucks waiting for this thing. a buddy of mine got the droid X yesterday on release day and it just made me that much more impatient!! :p
 
Late-comer to the party... I was all set to pick up an X yesterday, but walked out of the store without one (and not because of stock issues). I just couldn't get over the size and edginess of the thing. So today I ordered an Incredible... Which puts me on the very end of the delivery spectrum!

The signature form they left yesterday.
Turns out yesterday they went to the back door, today they went to the front.
Actually turned out to be a good thing I guess because there was a theft in the neighborhood today.
Went straight to FedEx after work and waited for the driver to bring it back.
Charging now!!!
So glad this is over with.

It was Indirect, but definitely nobody else around to sign for it.
I'm sure the note will work, just make sure to put it where they will see it. They went to the back door yesterday and the front door today.
 
I know the odds of success are very bad but I'm going to try and get my phone from FedEx tomorrow (assuming it gets to the Raleigh distribution center tomorrow). Sitting in Memphis, TN right now.

That is where mine sat for the last 2 days, frustrating!
 
It's going to be a slow quiet weekend in here..
I worked at my restaurant tonight, I had a table of 4 and the boy (probably 15-16) had an Incredible. I was so tempted to ask about it but obviously I didn't because that'd be weird. I then was mad and thought he didn't deserve it because he probably gets everything he wants buttttt that was my jealousy talking haha.

Don't sweat it... not leaving for good. Half (at least) in here doesn't even know about my kitten fettish AND you been doing right by this thread... mediating, getting the lights, etc lol. My first post in here was like page 20 or so, have read EVERY POST (thats right all 9000 or so). hard to keep on keeping on. The family is in good hands i'm sure.:)

Got my phone today. Charged it for about 6 hours before I started playing with it. Call quality is decent and no pink hue, except at low brightness. Signal is low though 0-2 bars and no 3G in my house at all. So that's a bummer, hoping that will be fixed with the update.
