Modaco?

Back at the height of my cooking *career*, I was flashing my Omnia about 12 times a day.

No, I didn't ever use it to make calls, because it was always flashing!

God, to see so many familiar names and avatar's here. I still have my Omny 2 and my Droid 1. Verizon is so gracious to let me *228 whenever I want to switch between the two. I use to flash the Omny 1 evertime I saw a new ROM; same with the 2. Have rooted my Droid 1 and am running Froyo.

Same username; +1 on the flashaholic!

Note: I have tried Modaco a few times today and am not able to get to the site. Others having problems or did I put my finger in the wrong hole again?

had some trouble at first getting into android section but 2nd try got in fine..... just nothing going on in there. Seems omnia sectoin still doing ok though

my guess is invisible shield bc mine was still on it when i sold it

Duh... feel stupid now... was 3 am so i guess i dont feel so bad:rolleyes:
Still got a cheapy on mine from verizon, it peeling from the edges and has dirt under it(from day one at that). Was so relieved when my crystal clear went on flawlessly on my Inc

I was there! Same username. I loved the Omnia when I first got it. It was my first foray back into smart phones for a couple of years. I had a few HTC bricks before the Omnia, including the Apache. I had to drop the data plan (for a while I seem to remember it was an additional $50 a month) and revert to feature phones. Then I got the Omnia and having been deprived for so long it was great. I flashed that thing over and over and over. I think I must have tried every ROM there was. One day I realized I was trying to make it look and act like my wife's Eris so I thought why not just get the Eris, and decided Android is so much better than Windows Mobile. Upgraded to the Inc and here I am. Haven't worked up the nerve to root this one, it seems so different a process than the easy flashing of the WinMo phones and I really am satisfied with what I have stock at the moment. I'd like to try some of the ROM's but so many of the ones that interest me have bugs with MMS and/or using the camera, two things I use daily so I'm in wait and see mode right now. But there are so many familiar names from Modaco and PPCGeeks.

I still have my Moto Droid too, running Froyo FRF91.

It sits in its cradles on my desk and every once in a while I switch out the ESN on my line and activate it.

Then I come right back to the DI.

Its overclocked at 1ghz, but it is still slower, even with Froyo.

Quick question? I have rooted my Droid 1 and am using Froyo 2.2. I would like to overclock but can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. A quick suggestion would be most appreciated.

Well, you will need an overclock kernel installed, and then you can just ramp it up with a program like setcpu.

Does the Droid 1 have the kernel to overclock or do I have to add one. Where to get it and how. The setcpu should be available on the app market I supose.

Thanks, you use to help me a lot with the Omny back in the days. If memory serves me, you are also in AZ?

You may have better luck over in the Moto Droid root forum here.

Similar story here, all the stuff we were putting on our omnia's about half of it (for me) was stuff ported from htc, i figured i would go to htc. was looking at the imagio untill i saw someone at modaco reference the incredible.... end of story. Guess i got modaco to thank for that as well!!!

Didn't really go to ppcgeeks very much, do have a profile there though, really liked omniaroms, they had a good community, but i was all modaco, lol. Its dead as hell in the incredible section though, never poked around any where else in their android section, any one know if there's any action in there?
