No. It'll get here when it gets here. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
I was telling myself this too. I never received any sort of order status or tracking number... Long story ahead:
After placing my order on the 15th about 6:00am with overnight shipping, calling back the 16th when it didn't show up and being told my order got stuck in the system and I would have it by the 23rd, and calling the 18th to complain and told I would definitely have it by the 23rd, I told myself I would leave Verizon alone and wait until the 23rd like they told me.
So of course my phone did not show up today. I had them ship to my work, and FedEx shows up here every morning about 9:00am.
I called *611 and asked the rep, Ivan, to check the status of my order and he said the manager of the rep who took my order on the 15th rejected the order that same day! So when I called back on the 16th and 18th, and the reps assured me I would have it by the 23rd, it turns out my order didn't even exist!
Ivan told me he did not know why it was canceled, and that I should have been called back that same day to fix the problem. He was, however, able to give me a better deal on the phone. Instead of $299 with mail in rebate + $20 early upgrade fee, he gave it to me for $199, with no mail in rebate and no fees. Unfortunately he said it would not ship until 8/3.
I told him that I wasn't upset at him, but frustrated at how the situation was handled and that I should have had my phone a week ago. He agreed, and told me that if there was anything in his power that he could do to get the phone here sooner, he would, but he did offer me a $50 credit which I accepted.
I was assured that my order would go through this time without needing approval by any manager, and that I would receive a tracking number in my email when the phone shipped. I spoke to him less than an hour ago, and my account page is already updated with the order.
So if you ordered and have not heard *anything*, like I had, you should probably call back. Chances are they screwed up. I am not completely satisfied, but at least now I know for sure there is an order for me, and hopefully I'll get lucky like a lot of people in this thread and my order will ship early.
