^ I bought and returned the VZW leather case w/kickstand...looks identical to the AMZER. I liked the case but it would not have fit the extended battery coming out next month which I definitely plan on getting.
Body glove has a clip you can clip on your shorts and offers alot of protection and access to the screen

I purchased the body glove when I ordered my phone yesterday. I needed the belt clip for when I go to work. I had good experiences with body glove in the past.

I am looking forward to these by Seidio and i am also considering using the Carbon fiber Chromatics from Phantom skinz.

It doesn't look like it, it seems like it is a silicone hard back type single case. Yeah, i like the phantomzkinz too...
I don't think what I'm looking for exists, but in case someone has found it in the depths of the interwebs, here goes...
I have a snap-on case on my Droid, and I use the dock at night- so it's a bit of a chore (admittedly not what it used to be, since the case now has some stress cracks from repeated removal) to dock it. I have this case, though, because it slides into a holster with a belt clip.
For the Droid X, I want to be a bit simpler. I want an easy-to-remove case with a belt clip, which would leave me looking for a silicone case with a clip. I suspect I'm not likely to find one since the screen is such a substantial portion of the X, thus leaving very little real estate on the front for the cover to grab. My guess is the phone would slide out pretty easily due to its weight if a belt clip were also included.
The obvious answer would be a universal leather holster, but I'm shying away from those as that's just another opportunity to handle the phone and drop it as removal from those can sometimes be awkward.
Any thoughts?

Seidio will have what your looking for. It may be a few weeks, but they are working on something just like this.

Why can't someone make a case like the blackberry silicone skins? These were super thin and protected the phone very well.
Same here. That leather case looks great even though it wouldn't be my first choice at all.
My only problem with cases is that they don't fit in the docks at all.
The RocketFish does when you remove the case liner out of the car dock. Even the folks at the verizon store didn't know this. I had to read the instructions to see that there is an inner liner on the dock your remove if your phone has a case.
What I'd really like is a case / holster combo that works with the car dock.
Expecting the phone next week. So far I really think I'm going to like it, I just hope it and the leather kickstand case aren't that hard to get off because I get bored very easily

You have to mod the car dock to make the Rocketfish case fit the dock. It's very easy with a dremmel tool.

That's funny because I bought BOTH that exact case and the red one from Best Buy. So far the Rocketfish has been disappointing considering I spent $25 on it. The case does not align itself completely shut and looks cheaply made.
My Ebay one shipped yesterday and I should get it sometime next week. I'll put my thoughts on how they differ. I'll be most likely returning the Best Buy one because it is simply way too expensive considering what it's made out of.
They should refund an open item, right?

Just returned the Rocketfish one at best buy. Got 100% full refunded. And yeah, the box makes it very easy to put back together and return.

Will look forward to your review of that case from eBay. I just bought Rocketfish from BB as well, but only as a temporary solution until I figure out and order a case that I like. BB has 30 days money back return policy and as v4npro mentioned its easy to put it back together to make it look like brand new.
I’m also thinking about ordering Amzer Luxe Argyle black or smoke case from eBay which you can get shipped for about $8-$9. Based on the video description Amzer one piece design looks sturdy and feels like it will give a better protection for the phone. Rocketfish, on contrary, feels really flimsy and feels like if I drop it will come apart.
