Orange UK 2.1 update news

quick question... I moved the date forward by a year to get the update... I presume moving the date back to 'automatic' will be fine and won't screw anything else up?
 
I guess tomorrow would be more likely than today, if only from the point of view of Orange giving it 24 hours to see if this prep update harms the phone in any way.

Putting my developer hat on it makes sense. At least by giving it a gap it'll be easier to determine which update caused the problem if anything does go wrong.

However, with my user hat on..... hurry up and get it pushed out!!!!!

I might have a SD card backup on my PC with it, I'll check it tonight.

After I completed the update my date had automatically gone back to the right date, so turning the automatic date back on shouldn't make a difference
 
YES!!!!!!

First part came through!
Forwarded my date and waited about 1 min.

It's now back up and running and all seems well..... now, wheres that second part?!

All done and synced but after installing some apps from the market the long list I had installed in "my downloads" has gone.

Never mind. It needed a good clear out anyway and I'll keep it clean and hope the 2.1 will be with us tomorrow.
 
I can't believe I've gotta wait until I get home from work to install the required ROM to then get the update notification! :mad:

On the other hand, great to see that everyone's finally seeing some progress! :)

Been following this for a while without actually posting, so this is a thanks to all who did post to keep us all in the loop. I believe I still have one or two threads of hair in my head remaining...:D
 
So do you need to be on 2.73.61.66 for the updates to come through?

I found a nandroid backup, but it's 2.73.61.5. I'm just restoring a backup a few days after the first one, so hopefulyl it'll be 2.73.61.66.
 
Can anyone remember how long T-mobile took to release Part 2 after Part 1, was its days or weeks apart? I can only image Orange will do the same.

All I know is that I'm on .5 and nothing has come through, even with the date forward...
 
That update has been around since April according to the build date on the HTC website..
So where's the 2.1 udate folks?
 
Just upgraded the ROM to .66, and as soon as it powered back up the 2.1 upgrade started - didn't even have to put the date forward.

It won't, I've just updated to .6 and as it was asking me to configure my settings after first boot, the update pinged in:)

No need to move the date forward if you start to install .6, it should kick in straight away.

P.s. thanks to all who have contributed to this thread, it's been the best source of accurate info with regards to the Orange 2.1 update:rolleyes:

I think T-mobile released the second part within days, if not the day after the 1st part. I know it wasn't a long wait between updates
 
Cheers for the updates y'all. Just nudged the date forward a month on mine and BOOM straight away its updating.

Fingers crossed for the main course fairly soon, though opting for crossed fingers rather than held breath....
