Root [ROM]Leaked Stock 2.2 with Sense [EVERYTHING WORKS!!]

Hey, I saved the ROM to my SD card and loaded it through recovery and when it booted I was updated to Froyo, but with no changes to my phone otherwise. Meaning all apps were there and even my scene was perfect. Don't know if that's how it's supposed to work, but I highly recommend going that route.

That is odd. well hey if it worked then your a step ahead of us!

if you didnt have the new OTA already i bet camcorder doesnt work ^

bc i tried it on the stock radio and it works fine but no camera

1134 quad score! and Genie widget being added in update is a pleasant surprise...

Yea if you do not update the radio the camera and a few other things will not work. You have to update the radio. No way of getting around it.

I had to as well.. Used option 1.

Didnt have any signal when trying to sync my gmail account until I dialed *228.

Works good now.

Kinda like the HTC Flashlight app. About time they made one..

mv /system/app/GenieWidget.apk /system/app.disabled

VZNAV:
mv /system/app/VzNav.apk /system/app.disabled

I tried doing this but I keep getting this file permission error in adb shell. I am rooted.

In order to install to SD we need to put an ext3 or 4 partition on the SD card <1.5GB (like a 1GB partition would work). Anyone have any tools? I'm too tired to do it right now..

3. It should automatically start loading PB31IMG.zip. Then accept it when it asks you to load it or not (pretty sure Vol Up).
p

Correct: Vol Up is yes to accept update, Vol Dn is no to reboot.

Thanks again for this! It was way too late for me to figure it out myself hehe.

It then asks to reboot to the stock 2.1 (eek! I feel so exposed!)

I have tried to follow the steps as they are written.
I unrooted my phone and brought it back to stock.
Then I renamed the OTA zip file to update.zip and mounted it to my SD card.
I go into recovery on the phone and select update zip.
It keeps erroring out there and I get a message that says something about abort and cant find update.zip file.
What am I doing wrong?

Not to sound dumb or anything but you just renamed the file to "update" right?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if we're able to install what seems to be a working legitimate 2.2 rom, wouldn't it be to your advantage to install this over the OTA official 2.2 release? My only reasoning for this is maybe the official 2.2 release will patch the exploits that allowed us root access.

I would assume so

Yea but if you install over it. it will remove root. that is why you have to unroot and install then re-root.

EDIT: Letting all of you know. Im going back to SkyRaider. I HATE STOCK APPS!!!! and I miss my Red theme... This is going to be a long night...

Anyone know why I cant change the boot animation at startup with PutYourBootHere like I did originally since getting this froyo rom?

It goes through all the steps but doesn't change anymore.
