Verizon 30 Day Worry Free Guarantee

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone ever used the worry free guarantee? I know there is a $35 restocking fee, but are there any other fees?

Also, if I want to port my number back to my old Carrier, do I need to sign up again with my old Carrier to have it ported over? Thanks.
 
I had to go through the restocking fee process when I was just taking my dad's upgrade. I originally bought the phone retail but found out my dad had an upgrade.
 
I used it just to exchange phones...35 for the restocking fee...but since I exchanged for an X and they needed to order it they took my old phone and I needed to come up with an old phone for the time being....
 
I used it to return an LG Ally and replace it with the Droid X. Paid the restocking fee and they also reactivated my old Omnia while the Droid X was being shipped. No other fees.
 
If you want to port back to your old carrier, than yes you need to go back to the carrier and sign up with them. Just tell them you want to port your number back over. There are no other fees besides the $35 restocking fee, however you will be responsible for your prorated bill as well as the activation fee (unless you ordered online and had it waived).

I'm actually switching back to Verizon (went to Sprint for the Evo, since 7/14/2010). We should be getting our Droid X's tomorrow in the mail - do I need to just call and have mine and my wife's #s ported over to Verizon and then return my phone back to Sprint? (Mine was new, my wifes was an old phone as she was with Sprint before I made the switch to the Evo)
 
if you use the WFG, make sure you have your original packing materials (box and accessories) or else they'll charge you.
 
I returned my Incredible, no problem, no questions asked. Did not send back the garbage, like plastic bags and twist ties. They only care about the hard goods and manual. $35, over and out.
 
Verizon will charge you for the use of the service if you do not port your number out with you. For example, if you tried the service for three weeks, don't like it and then cancel, you can return the hardware with no charge for the device, but since you basically test drove their service and used their number, you will be charged for the services used. If you port out your number, there's no charge for the use of service. I guess this cuts down on folks sticking with their other carrier and using up Verizon's resources carelessly before cancelling.

Just a" FYI", There is no Restock Fee should you encounter a hardware defect within the first 30 days.
I called Customer Care (*611) regarding some hardware issues with my device and the guy I spoke with was the one who actually brought up waiving the $35 Restock Fee.
Should an instore rep tell you they can't waive the restock fee, have them call Customer Care right there, and you will get the fee waived over the phone.
It was hard to believe but he said and I quote,
"This is company policy. "
Customer Care noted my account, waiving the $35 Restock fee on my X should I choose to return within the 30 days.
I pay nothing to return. I simply bring the original packaging etc in, also bring receipt to ensure return process is quick.
I get my NE2 back, as well as my renewal date.
Everything goes back to before I bought my device.
A phone that works with VZ is all you need.
I am sticking with VZ, I have a Droid 1, that's all I need if I decide to make the return.
