Android 2.2 [Froyo] Bugs and Questions - Post em Here

One more thing I noticed, not sure if it's related. But I no longer see my purchased apps in the app store "downloads".
Same here. However, at least with Documents to Go, Silent Snap Camera and Smart Keyboard Pro, the paid versions still function on my phone even though the versions on my phone don't have the paid icons- e.g. creating documents in Docs to go, no ads in silent snap, and shortcuts in Smart Keyboard Pro all work. Haven't tried with other paid apps like pdanet. I don't think I don't have any paid apps that do not have free versions.

1. Can you change the bottom dock buttons?
2. My stock messaging app is now white. Can I go back to the dark version?

I found this in the app store, just took a screenshot (is this the flash app?):

Hi all,

I have been a frequent reader but this is my first post. I installed the 2.2 update and things have been running great. I noticed that the Wifi icon in the notification area does not "fill in" like it used to. It looks as if I have no Wifi signal even though in Wifi setting if I click on my wireless network it shows Signal Strength: Excellent. In Wifi Analyzer my AP shows between -40 and -50 db. That's pretty damn good. Just curious if anyone else has noticed this?

Thanks for the great site and the great info and the early FroYo! :)

Do you ahve connectivity to your WiFi?

Can you browse, etc. using WiFi?

Hmmm, that might require a second reboot....IOW, after rebooting the first time, open market, make sure you go to downlaods and it shows all your apps, then reboot again.

Not yet. Once you get rooted FroYo and you get themes, you should be able to again.

Worked great ... thanks ... and thanks for the Flash MOD ... worked awesome. Nice community here, I think I'll stick around a while!

Welcome aboard!

Sure looks like it - see, patience is a virtue!

Silly me, sorry... I guess I got excited when I saw it there. I think that's just the showcase... when I click on it, it says file not found when trying to install the Flash 10.1 update :(

I installed flash like everyone has noted here, but it is slow as heck and I have yet to have a video match up with the words being spoken. I've run task killer and tried again. I've even let the video run a bit so it wasn't playing ahead of what it had already buffered. Is this just to be attributed to the fact this isn't the final build of flash, or am I missing something?

I've been running videos (full episodes) from fox.com to try it out. But even a cnet.com video did the same thing. Suggestions?

I'm a little confused about the official stance for Flash Player.
Officially, how are we supposed to install Flash?
Through the app store? Or is it done automatically?
I assumed that 2.2 would just come with Flash pre-installed ...

I understand there are apk files out there but I'm speaking for most people, who are just going to go to some website and expect Flash to work after upgrading to 2.2...

Swype is not working on 2.2 =/

Tap to type via the app's keyboard works but actual swiping does not.

*edit* I just got a notice from the app saying it was configured for another device and would offer "limited functionality".

Looks like we need an update from the Swype crew.

Is anyone having issues with the SWYPE keyboard?
Can't seem to get it working anymore ...

No, you need ot uninstall Swype application, but leave the installer installed.

Then, run the installer app again and let it install it again.

Swype is confirmed working on FroYo - both leaked and official.

This isn't exactly new... I saw plenty of Google search results related to this issue. Several of my common software apps aren't showing up in the Market Place since doing the manual update.

Ones I've noticed so far:
- FiOS DVR Manager
- FiOS Remote
- Fandago

Yep. I have connectivity and I could browse just like normal. I should mention that in toying around I turned the wifi off and back on in settings and now it is suddenly working like normal. So.. I guess I'm all good now.

Thanks for the questions and I hope my discovery might help someone else.

Does anyone have trouble with their screen after plugging the phone into their computers? I connected my phone to my computer, but when I touch the screen, it starts going crazy. I've tried a battery pull, but that hasn't fixed it. I also noticed it brings up a screen that says the phone's connected, where it did not do that in 2.1. I didn't have screen trouble in 2.1 either.

I can't get swype to work anymore either. Do I need to download another installer?

No.

Uninstall the Swype application only - not hte installer.

Then run the installer again and let it download the Swype app abnd install it again.

You should then be good to go.

Where would I go about getting swype?

It is a private beta - if the beta is closed you'll have to wait until they open it again.

Help! I just downloaded and installed the update.zip file for 2.2, and I'm in an endless loop - Helixlauncher2 is force closeing, and I can't get to the settings to uninstall it. Plus, the multi-touch keyboard is force closing, but that's not the main problem. I can't get to any home screen at this point

I followed the exact step by step instructions, however my android version still says "2.1-update1" but everything else got updated such as Kernel version and Build number. My application launch is still from 2.1. Help..

Go to Settings --> applications --> Helix and then click the button remove defaults.

That is ... weird. I have no idea where to go from ther - have you tried re-flashing?
