Why buy over the vibrant?

I have a vibrant and I am in my last few days before I am beyond the remorse period. I'd like to know why you bought the evo over the vibrant and if you'd do it again. I am pretty sure I will stick with what I have but I need to be sure I am not over looking anything major. Thanks!

Plus it is on T-mobile. Sprint is such a better company. I have been with them for 10 years now and i am very pleased with their customer service. Their coverage are way better then T-mobile plus most of us has will be getting 4g service. The phone itself is awesome! I would go into a Sprint store and play with the Evo and compare.

Sprint. T-mobile sucks. Plus the Vibrant is a gimped version of the Galaxy S.

It seems like a very fine phone, just based on the specs. I have an EVO because I'm on Sprint and it's the best Android phone they offer. Maybe I would like the Vibrant too...who knows, since I have this EVO for a year and I'm very happy with it.

Sprint will be getting it's own version of the Vibrant (GalaxyS) soon, but I would have to see both side by side to decide which I liked best.

Sprint, Front Facing camera, LED Flash, Kick Stand, 4G, 4.3 Screen, 8MP Camera, HDMI out, plus as a UI Sense kills Touch Jizz umm I meant wizz. I could go on. But I wont.

^What that dude said. KICKSTAND! It's got a freakin' KICKSTAND! How pimp is that?

Sense, bigger screen, T-mobile data coverage sucks near me, and I've already been soured on Samsung phones because of how a bad a phone the moment is/was.

Does the Vibrant feel cheap at all to you? It felt like utter crap to me when I played with it. The screen is damn nice though. If the Epic 4G and the EVO both came out on the same day, I'd have to play with both to decide...but since this is a Vibrant vs EVO topic, EVO all the way. 4G towers are lighting up in my area for testing and they'll soon be on full time. The speed is pretty damn good.

Choose your carrier first then select from the phones. All of the carriers are getting good phones lately.

I came from T-Mobile, but was seduced to the Evo the first phone in it's class (1 GHz processor, camera with flash, 4G). Though now, there are a number of candidates that I can think of, still Sprint offers the best value for a carrier. I'll probably get the next best thing the moment my year is up and ready to upgrade. But let's see what's on the buffet table. As for the Vibrant? It's from T-Mobile. 'nuff said. :)

Sprint has a much better metwork.. put a candybar in your left hand and a turd in your right.. now, which would you eat? same diff. dont get me wrong.. t.mo is ok, but Sprint is better.

Everything Data 450... best deal out.

Ok thanks everyone. I don't think I'll be able to find an evo, but I am going to look. I like the concept of sprint tv. Is it any good?

As for carriers, never had a problem with tmo. I am glad to hear sprint is so good. As for the feel of the vibrant, I did not think it felt cheap, but this is my first smart phone, so I didn't have anything to compare it to. I personally loved the light weight and size of the device. I think an evo may be too big for my pockets. I am going to check it out tho.

Get an Epic. Hardware keyboard, on screen keyboard, better camera than the Evo (mega pixels mean nothing), Flash, front facing camera, 4G, high res samoled screen, dlna (like hdmi but wireless), sprint

I know you deleted your post but I wanted to respond anyways. I am a amateur photographer and I can say that Megapixals are not the most important factor in a camera. But to say it means nothing is being a little naive (no offense). If you are a perfect photographer then maybe. But if you like to edit, zoom, or crop. And you have few megapixels to work with, your pictures become very pixelated for lack of the MP's.

DLNA is great if your TV has that compatibility. But most HDTV's have HDMI output. So the majority of people will actually benefit from HDMI versus DLNA.

Now all we need is a hack to utilize the HDMI out for the whole Android OS. Therefore we can hook up a bluetooth mouse and keyboard then we will have a mini pc.

Sprint TV is good as long as your 3G/4G connection is good. I used it a LOT during the World Cup ;D *note that it does not work on Wifi*

I played w an AT&T captivate... nice phone, screen was incredible and it was nice and thin. I prefer the evo over the Galaxy S series due to sense being better then touchwiz, the GPS problems on the Galaxy S phones (this is a show-stopper for me) and Sprints coverage and pricing. I do also have more faith in HTC's (and XDA's) ability to fix problems then I do in Samsung.

I think T-mobile's pricing is pretty decent but there coverage here in the mid-west (or with any GSM carrier for that matter) is a joke. If you travel much you'll have much better coverage with a CDMA carrier. Sprint also offers free roaming on Verizon's network (not for 3G though) so you get great coverage at a great price.

I thought it might be too big to fit in my pocket too, but if you compare it to say an iPhone, it's not that much bigger. It's thin enough to fit comfortably in jeans. When you pick up an EVO, you'll see what I mean about feeling cheap... good luck.

All carriers are ass depending on your location. I was with Tmobile previously and my coverage was great along with their customer service. Their prices were pretty decent also.

This is my 8th state and 3 of those I had Tmo. Coverage was pretty shit. Also, GSM = unsecure.
