Root Evo Port Test ROMs | Droid Incredible

A bug I noticed, is while playing an MP3 if i choose the option to set it as my ring tone, nothing happens. If i set it to be a CONTACT ring tone, it works fine.

As for the camera MMS issue, I noticed that if i choose a large image to send via SMS, it does not auto resize it, but if i take a large camera photo, it does auto resize it.

maybe this is why it is not being delivered. I should clarify that when sending MMS with images from galery the recipient does get the message, just not with the image in it. So perhaps its sending the images too large and not resizing them? What is the maximum resolution that an image can be sent over MMS? I can manually resize and test to see if that is the proplem.
 
Just for kicks, I tried flashing Skyraider 2.2 and then installing the evo framework ontop of that.

Aside from it taking a while to boot (I thought it was locked on the droid eye and that it was a no go, was about to hardreset when it finally came up ;p) MMS apears to be sending properly on this configuration, and HTC messaging doesn't freeze up on the loading screen. I have tested and confirmed working:

GPS
Navigation
SMS and MMS
Gmail
Phone
Market place
Both storage connect as usb drives when hooked up to PC
Got 6 singal bars and signal seems to be stronger than skyraider by itself.

So far all apps I have downloaded have worked, but I havn't tried that many yet.

Ima test this rom longer and see if I can find something not working. (and no I don't have a tv-out cable to test that) Is there anything I can provide to you from this rom to figure out why MMS out is working here and not on yours?
 
Well, I know why MMS isn't working, without the APN fix. One of the evo apps that supplies the APN data is pointing the phone to Sprint's MMS gateway.

Thats why its working now (those are Dinc apps).

I've been asking some friends of mine what application stores these default APN settings, but they haven't got back to me yet. Thats all I really need, because its as simple as bringing back the Dinc app instead of the Evo app.
 
This ROM runs like butter on hot mashed potatoes- smooth, fast, no FCs, lots of gravy. My Dinc has never performed better. If the OTA isn't at least an order of magnitude faster, I'm staying with FrankenROM!

Alright, so I haven't figured out which program is creating the APN data, but I think I found a way that I can manually configure it at boot time.

If it goes well, beta 2 will be eminent tonight or tomorrow.
 
Thanks adrynalyne for the great mod. GPS doesn't work but I didn't install the radio update. One thing however, when I try to record any video (720p and lower), the camera freaks out and starts buzzing hysterically, reboots. Not really sure what's going on there!
 
Good because I was thinking of doing a fresh reload - and I can start with the new FrankenROM Beta! :D

Thats due to the radio not being updated as well.

Just finished decompiling part of the framework to fix the APN issue, and recompiled it. Now I just need to figure out the crash on the dialer with setting quick dials.
 
Anyone having problems with using LWP on the senseless version of this ROM? I am not seeing an option to use them, just the one stock wallpaper that it comes with or a pic from the photo gallery.

That said, this thing absolutely FLIES... so smooth, it is amazing!
 
Right now I am trying to get speed dialing removal working correctly.

Can't seem to remove 1 or 2....

Depending on that is when I release beta 2.
 
Great ROM. Had to donate to our resident chef.

Question:

1) Handcent FCs on me pretty frequently, and with just about every text I send, the text has the little "progress circle" next to it and it never ends, but the text IS sent.

Does this have to do with the messaging app being associated with Sprint's network?

2) The battery seems to charge slower (phone on while charging). Not sure how battery life is so far. I would imagine discharge is slower, too, but haven't verified.
 
I'm getting FCs in the People app, too, especially when trying to change a contact's group.

And when I try to slide over to view all groups (bottom bar icon), it has a loading screen but never displays the groups.

Any ideas, Adrynalyne?
