would love to go back to running chevy mods but after i downloaded the 4.6 i tried to change the banner to verizon wireless couldnt do it got stuck in a boot loop had to pull battery finally went to jrummy lithium mod.. really wanted 4.6 to show verizon wireless so i could of used my nfl app.. anybody know of a way to fix this issue?

How did you attempt to change the banner, using the built-in tools?

OK ... can you try from term emulator again to see if it's throwing any errors not showing in the Tools? Also, after running, run this command:

ls -l /system/framework/framework-res.apk

im sorry chevy.. tried that still not getting the verizon banner... maybe due to my mistakes but can u please explain step by step what i have to do.. should i apply it thru your tools menu first then term emulator.. fixpd then the framework res apk command tried it all ways and never got the verizon banner emulator came back saying no file found ... also launcherpro plus and alarm clock keep on force closing???

Which kernal are you using?

While I'm certainly not the one to say, but if I were getting a lot of FC's I'd probably try a higher voltage or lower frequency kernal. I'm one of the fortunate ones can run 1.2 ulv.

im using chev 1ghz lo volt kernal

Is Set CPU necessary for profiles? Or is this like BB 4 and the profiles already set up? Thanks. Love this rom by the way.

First I'd like to say I am enjoying this ROM very much, nice and smooth, very responsive and Black Glass theme looks and works great with it. One thing that is bugging me is the battery readings sometimes go haywire. Like it would show me the battery is down to 20% and as soon as I plug it in to charge the reading says charging 50%, or I noticed that sometimes it would jump down from 80% to like 50% at once. So don't know if this could be a theme issue or Rom issue, just wanted to give a heads up.

edit... to update,
I had an extra battery laying around and wanted to see if it might be the cause of my battery that I was getting all these weird readings and that's exactly what it was. The new battery fixed it for me.

As Chevy asked...I installed over SS 4.5 without wiping (a first for me...lol). I also installed his new 1.25ghz ulv kernel. Its running smooth as silk so far. I'll give it a couple of days to see how it does. low 19s mflops on linpack, i'll check quadrant in a bit.
edit: 1550s on quadrant. A little lower than others i've used...but very smooth so far.

ok so far this rom is working well for me. this may be the one to take me away from bb (at least until bbv0.5). but one thing i really dont like is that there seems to be no aps2sd script. flash for instance is a lot to keep on the phone. some apps moved but most didnt:(

I installed this ROM yesterday and was fine, I rebooted my phone this afternoon and all I get are constant force closes. I was wondering if I can go into recovery and into nandroid and restore? or is there something else I need to do?

It might be your phone is not liking the kernel you're using, so try flashing another kernel first.

ok so now i am really bummed!! for the life of me i can't get the a2sd script to work! i go to terminal type: pm getInstallLocation it says auto so i run: a2sd on
it says it worked but it really doesn't. has anyone else had this problem?

edit: nevermind i got it. for those wondering or have this problem with this rom:
go to dev tools terminal emulator enter letters su (gives super user permission)

THEN enter a2sd on

i didn't enter the su part lol

Heya Chevy, dunno if you're still trolling this thread much anymore. But I'd like to ask if you're planning on having a FRG22 based SS anytime soon? I'm still plenty pleased with 4.6, but it's always nice to be running the latest (and supposedly greatest) Android build too :).

+1

I enjoyed this rom...but after a few days started to get laggy (is that a word??). Switched to the frg22 from MDW....but waiting for 4.7 to try again :)

chevy is saying 4.7 should be ready by the end of the week!:) he also has a fix for streaming music on 2.2, including pandora!!

ChevyNo1 (ChevyNo1Droid) on Twitter

Sounds awesome. I already edited the build.prop file on my phone to fix the streaming issue (even though I couldn't hardly notice it anyways in my car), but I'm sure the other features will be a sweet addition. Too bad he didn't specify if it was built off FRG22, I'm sure it will be though.

My phone seems to get laggy after a few days with any 2.2 ROM I've ran so far (BB, NexBeast, Stock 2.2, and now SS). All I do to fix it is boot to recovery and clear the phones cache. I wish this was an option from the OS so I wouldn't have to reboot though.

Hmmm...I didn't think of that. Maybe that's the problem, this is the first time in a while that I've used ANY rom for more than a couple of days...lol.:D

Hey sorry for my absense - too many things going on!

In 4.7 you will be able to change banner text from within tools, no reboots necessary. The streaming fix will NOT be to disable stagefright, this is the actual code fix from google. As far as whether it will be FRG22, or FRG01B ... I am hesitant to put a tag on it, since none of these tags exist in the code. Why is that? Because FRG* is a BUILD tag, not a SOURCE tag. That being said ... I am building the code in the FROYO SOURCE tag, and I just pulled 2 days ago. So it will be very recent code :)
