Hmm after reading a few statements from some EEs, I'm not going to deplete my Li-Ion and am instead going to just use the external charger. The OEM 1500 can go back in for the night while the big kahuna is charging outside. Short version of their statements: there is no "calibration" for Li-Ions. But there is the possibility that it will recalibrate the phone... hmm... ok maybe i'll try it this time.. let the phone turn itself off, turn it back on, let it turn itself off again, charge while off.

and the battery seems to be holding stable @ 75%. so i'm guessing that's all the battery is being charged to while in the phone..

Well if you take my 84%,90% & 95%False charges...thats adds up to about 30% of battery life your missing out by not doing the battery stat wipe method.....

If your charging through the phone

when you have the time, could you walk us through the process of doing the calibration? my understanding was to drain the battery to when it turns the phone off, turn it back on, let it turn the phone off again, then charge it in OFF mode until it stops charging. then repeat. seidio recommended something similar, where you were supposed to let it drain to turn itself off, then charge to full, drain again, charge to full, though no mention of in ON or OFF mode.

but it looks like you have a different process. something like charge it up with phone ON, turn it OFF, turn it ON, charge it up with the phone on, rinse and repeat? is that right?

Guys, help.
I am having a problem with my battery.

It just came in, I put it on the charger and it was charging fine. I unplugged it after like 30 minutes (needed to use the phone). And all of a sudden my phone shut off. And now when I plug the phone in to charge, the light doesnt even turn orange to show that it's charging, and I can't power up my phone!

The phone turns on just fine with the stock battery.. Any thoughts?

1: Must be rooted to do this because you need a Custom Recovery....I used ROM Manager to flash the alternative Recovery Because im not sure if ClockWork Recovery has the battery Wipe option

2: Charge the phone until its 100% Fully Charged (While Phone is ON)

3: Once fully Charged unplug your phone from the charger and reboot into recovery

4: Once in recovery navigate to the Wipe---Wipe Battery stats option and Wipe your battery stats

5: Reboot the phone as normal and check the battery percentage after the reboot..
If you phone looses any charge after the reboot Repeat steps 2 through 4 Until it stays at 100% Charge after the battery stat wipe......( Once at 100% after Reboot/Battery Stat Wipe Make sure you drain to 0% before your next charge)

6: Enjoy Your Fully Charged Battery....(Most important step)

Try charging it for a bit with the phone off...After a hour of charging like this try to turn it on if it doesn't you probably got a busted battery....Where did you order from?

ah shucks. ill just stick to my external charger then. so the OEM 1500 lasted a LONG time last night! 12 hours dropped to only 71%!! But of course I was sleeping for 6 hrs of that time. But jeez, i guess i really cant charge from the phone.

OK Back from GYM "Phew"

Restarted phone just before i left to reset the up time

Pandora Running 100% of the time
4G Radio on and constantly Scanning
GPS ON
Mail and Weather syncing every 5 min
OverClock to 1113mhz
100% wake time meaning phone has been running full throttle Overclocked at 1113mhz for 2 and half hours Never dipping under 1113mhz

Fresh 3.1 ROM
KingzKernel #6

68 Percent Charge as of now....Drained to about 86 pretty quickly then stalled and discharged Slowly

With my OEM battery with GPS off and 4G off and streaming pandora for 2 hours my battery would be in the 50's if not 40's

Not gonna Charge... gonna leave GPS and 4G on to continually drain battery till 100% Percent empty/Shutoff

Giving that the GPS and 4G was on all this time and 100% wake and this being its first "real" charge im pleased....I will update throughout the day with my Percentages

This is more of a raw Test of the battery seeing how many hours of 100% wake usage you would get.....Real world with GPS & 4G off til needed and not 100% wake the battery wouldnt def last longer.....

The charging is the only complaint I have about my seidio battery. It won't fully charge. I have to keep power cycling it to get the true battery level then it will charge again till what it says is full but when I power cycle it the charge lvl is lower and it charges again. Its very annoying. I might just use the external charger at night from now on. I'm just worried that the battery door will break from removing it so often.

Do the battery stat wipe method i posted if your rooted

3 Hours wake Still Full throttle 61 Percent

On track for probably a 7 1/2hours Full Wake OverClocked...Which is crazy good..FIRST CHARGE

Might leave Pandora Streaming (Muted of Course) While at work to test this 100% Wake

Wipe data/factory reset - Deletes the entire contents of the data partition (mounted as /data) - same as the factory reset option from within the phone's settings.
This will remove all user-installed applications (if you're NOT using A2SD) and settings, and reset all configuration to ROM defaults.

Wipe dalvik-cache - Deletes the /data/dalvik-cache folder (Will also be done as result of "Wipe data")

Wipe SD:ext partition - Wipes the ext partition on the SD card (mounted at /system/sd) - This is where user-installed apps will be if you are using A2SD, which you probably will be. If you do a "wipe data" then apps installed on the SD will remain afterwards but the configuration for the apps will be erased.

Wipe battery stats - Deletes power usage logs in /data/system/ (also done as result of "Wipe data")

Wipe rotate settings - No idea.

Found that post in another forum..States wiping data/factory reset also wipes battery stats...

Would you charge the battery in the external charger to full them install it and do a factory reset or just keep power cycling it till it stays at 100% then do a factory reset?

Another question will backing up and restoring the settings restore the battery stats also?

SO fully charge, unplug, restore factory settings, then it should be good? Or will it drop and reveal the other 10/15% to be charged?

It will reveal the other charge it needs to be full....keep repeating until it reveals no extra charge needed

Update: 4 Hours wake time 50 Percent.....My OEM Battery would be dead by now:cool:

Thats a good idea....Charge it to full in the external and then do a battery stat wipe....Should save alot of time:rolleyes:

And it might restore the battery stats if you restore

Ok. Charge to 100%. Reset. Charge again to 100% reset. This is going to suck and I'm going to lose all my shit, oh well

Yeah But once your phone has the Battery Info of a 100% full charge 3000mah it should charge to full every time......Dont forget to drain the battery completly when you do reach 100% before charging again
