Hmm after reading a few statements from some EEs, I'm not going to deplete my Li-Ion and am instead going to just use the external charger. The OEM 1500 can go back in for the night while the big kahuna is charging outside. Short version of their statements: there is no "calibration" for Li-Ions. But there is the possibility that it will recalibrate the phone... hmm... ok maybe i'll try it this time.. let the phone turn itself off, turn it back on, let it turn itself off again, charge while off.

This is what I decided to do as well. The Seidio 3500 goes into the external charger at night and the 1500 goes back into the phone.

Here is a modded TPU case I got on ebay for $3 . And the power button works unlike some other tpu cases.

What did you use to cut this? I'm thinking an exacto would work, but I would think It would be hard to get a straight line.

+1. My post above was after having it in the external charger overnight. After charging it in the phone, I experience the same crap with a fast initial drop.

After dropping to 75% quickly, it has definitely held up pretty well. It's @ 66% now, some 2h 48m later. 10% in 3 hrs is pretty good I think. And this is with me using nav for a good 49%, compared to being idle 14%.

Well i jus called home and mine has also been delivered....At work til 11 though...Gonna be a long night..-__-...but woot

glad everyones getting much better run times. i notice a big difference when i charge the battery in my external charger it stays in the 90s for a few hours, first time i noticed i poped in the battery drove to work 30 min later looked at phone it was still on 100%

cant wait to hear your results with your trick out rom.

You cant wait? Pssh im dyin over here at work..gonna charge it over night and use it at the gym tomorrow.2 hours of streamin pandora usually puts my battery in the 50's....(100 percent wake). We'll see how it goes

Right now im 5 hours unplugged 3 hours awake...and at 47percent

Posting on these forums wit my Evo is killing my battery

Using KingzKernel #6...Netarchy's Kernel is on the bench for now

Well quick report for today. I'm at 11% from a full charge, 10 hours. Slight improvement for me so far. About 25 texts (below my average), checking email, checking and updating Twitter, Foursquare, and Facebook...downloaded a few apps including PingChat and have been chatting for the past 15 minutes...streamed about 30 minutes of the Jets vs Giants game today at a restaurant. I'll see if my results are consistent or improve throughout the week.

did you use the phone to charge or external charger? i believe your results will be significantly better with an external charger after seeing the differences provided to even the OEM 1500 battery.

Used the phone, I don't have an external charger at the moment.

please post details like i did in post #120 about what your ROM, kernel, radio and syncing states are to give an accurate picture of whats happening. otherwise its not going to be helpful.

external chargers are real cheap, definitely get one. you should blow past 10 hours on this battery

onebeast: supposedly #6 isnt too friendly with battery life on that kernel

My Battery should be fully charged by the tim i pack it in Tonight im gonna Wipe My Battery stats and make a detailed post about my Battery life tomorrow afternoon

Just a Precursor:
ROM: Fresh EVO 3.1.0.1
Kernel: KingxKernel #6

Still Deciding whether to flash Back to Netarchy for tomorrows test...hmmmmmm

It just charged to Full i rebooted into recovery wiped battery stats and when it rebooted my battery went down to 84 Percent...I suggest after you charge to full ..wipe your battery stats cause it wont charge correctly until you do...Since your phone still thinks your using a 1500mah Battery....Now its charging again its way back up to 100 Percent:cool:

Probably why external chargers work better because they have no battery info saved and they just charge to full
But if you dont wipe your stats on your phone it wont charge Fully

It's like going to a gas station you always go to and them giving you 20 gallons of gas not knowing you upgraded to a 50 gallon tank

When it gets to 100 Percent again im gonna wipe battery stats again and see if it stays at 100 percent this time..

I want every drip from my gas tank....Even the fumes:p

Rebooted and Wiped Battery Stats After it charged to 100 again....And its at 90 Gonna charge to 100 percent again and repeat until it stays at 100 after A Battery stat wipe... After that i should get Crazy life with this battery...If nobody has done this i suggest you do....Your tank isnt filling up

Also noticed that when i first got the battery it charged from 50 to 100 Pretty fast...Then it charged from 84 to 100 Fast but not as fast...Now its charging slow from 90 to 100....And seeing how big this battery is slow charging seems more realistic im heading in the right direction:D

Charging Through AC Not USB

Tell us if it works out to get the battery to full. I'd really like dependable charges without having to repeat that cycle.

Ill let you know..This process should eliminate the need for external chargers once you calibrate the battery with the phone like this

Wiped again and it at 95 Percent after reboot... gonna charge to 100 again and wipe and it should be at 100%

A little pain in the arse in the beginning but Well worth getting this out the way so the battery can actually charge to its potential

And this thing is Charging even SLOWER from 95 to 100..Which means its gonna drain slower...hehe

WOW....Took 17 Minutes to charge from 95 to 100 ...When i First got the Battery it charged from 50 to 100 in 40 Minutes.....

AND Battery is Officially Reporting full After Battery Stat Wipe....Im go to go....

Now it should Charge to FULL in the phone without the use of a external charger
