How long do you think for shipment?

Ordered: August 8th, in-store, around 5PM.
Processed: Couple days after.
Shipped: Yesterday, August 19th around 7PM or so. It was the evening basically.
Delivered: Today, August 20th at about 11:45AM. I was in school when my FedEx notification setup sent me a text message.

I currently have it sitting next to me. I don't think I'll be messing with the leaked Froyo. At least not until a lot of people give it a test run and come back with more results. I would like the speed boost and all, but not if I end up crippling my phone for some stupid reason. I can wait. Besides, I will be rooting it while it's on 2.1. That's enough for me.

I recorded a video on the way home from the shipping address. I simply strapped it to my sun visor like how I show in my thread in the, "Tips & Tricks," childboard. I might upload it later.

Everything looks great. It's in perfect condition. I got it activated alright. Everything is running fine. Now I just need to set everything up and start customizing and modifying. I should probably test for dead or stuck pixels.

The wait was worth it, but it still doesn't change how I feel about the situation. It wasn't so much the oddities that annoyed me. It was the way that Verizon/Motorola handled everything and left us in the dark.

For those of you who have gotten your phone(s), enjoy.

For those of you still waiting, good luck. Try not too worry as much as I did. FedEx did a fantastic job and left my package on the doorstep as asked. The note that I left was gone, of course.

From all the sites and blogs I have read, it appears anyone whose order goes through the Ontario Ca warehouse are waiting the full term. That's why some in the same State and even same town are seeing one guy wait a week, the other 2 1/2 weeks. I wonder why, if the California warehouse ships to other states and other states do the same, why is the California one so slow?

Same story for Ca customers getting shipped though other states getting them faster than east coast customers going through the Ca warehouse. I think Verizon should audit that place.

Certainly the case for my order. It may be true but then again I'm taking any info about the dx, with a grain of salt. Unfortunately there is a lot of misinformation, speculation, and lies to weed through (not saying your input is, but you get the idea).

It would seem that being the case, except I would assume the warehouse they shipped out of would be one close to shipping location. But that being said, I would presume my order would go through Ontario due to my location, but others got theirs from Ontario sooner. So I really don't know, even this rep I just called was perplexed at the inefficient system.

But honestly, I really feel like their system leaves alot to be desired. If they made the 25th ship date as a buffer, then they really should have no reason to make shipping based off of per warehouse as opposed to the units in their entirety.

Darn, no e-mails for me yet. I ordered the same day as you. Where at in PA is it shipping from? Reason I am asking is that I am in PA as well, so if mine does ship, it should be really quick.

I ordered my Droid X online Thursday, August 12th about 1 p.m. and was told by CS Monday, August 16th that mine would ship the next day, August 17th. Well, it didn't and I haven't heard anything since. I have called twice - disconnected once and told yesterday, August 20th, that it hadn't shipped yet but would ship when more units were in stock. Rocket science at its best. I wonder if Verizon received a bailout because it seems as if the shipping department operates as efficiently as a government agency.

I have this nice azz HD2 that has this garbage azz Windows Mobile on it. HTC know they could've made this phone better. That was a waste of a piece of equipment!!! I hate T-Mobile and they garbage azz service and waste of phones!!! I feel the same way, tryin' to waste time and keep my mind off of my Droid X LOL!!! This shit is crazy!!!

So I've been keeping up with this thread and it's been driving me nuts! Here is my order/shipment status: Online order for two Droid X's on Sunday 8/8. I was guaranteed to receive phones by 8/25. I have been calling for the updated status every day since Monday and I check my email constantly! UGH!!! I will keep ya'll posted on any other details that come my way. (By the way...I live in Denver)

FINALLY received that email confirmation yesterday afternoon! Shipped from Ontario, CA and I will receive it by 3pm Monday! Pretty funny that I have to wait the weekend now. Patience patience!!!!!!!! One more thing I will have to remain patient for is the Seidio Innocase Active case! I am happy that I will be receiving my phone a few days early, I have read on other message boards that there are still people who ordered on the 6th who have not received any shipping confirmation ~ CRAZY!

I ordered my phone online on the 12th sometime in the afternoon. I'm still (im)patiently waiting for any word on the delivery of our new Droid X's. At the time of the order its said that it'll ship on 08/30

We live in Georgia... so after reading through the thread I don't think there's any hope of us getting an earlier delivery but we'll be waiting patiently for any type of reply. I'll keep everyone posted.

P.S. Thanks for everyone in the forums for the wealth of information. I feel like I'll be a pro at navigating the phone when I get it. I'll be able to set mine and my wife's up in not time!

I know man I want my phone bad LOL! This phone situation has me on the edge right now. I am currently and impatiently waiting for my phone day in and day out. This is very crazy because Motorola should've made enough phones to begin with. I feel like they are playing games with this phone because I seriously don't think it takes this long to make this phone and get them shipped out to us. Verizon and Motorola messed up big time on this one. Like you though I want to thank everyone for the posts they have been posting because it's been keeping me somewhat busy until I do receive my phone. I ordered on the 18 August and they said my "will be shipped by date" was the 31 August. I guess we'll see there's nothing else we can do, but call and aggravate CS to try and get a little bit of hope to make us feel better until we do receive the phone. CS is like the sport coaches giving us pep talks and hope in the locker room. LOL! I'm really on the edge right now with CS, Verizon, Motorola, and whoever else finds this funny LOL!!!

Ok, south Ga. here, ordered in store on the 13th before noon, switching from Altell so new service. No shipping info yet, called CS this morning to check for tracking # in case I'm not getting an email, nothing yet.

I just read an AP article explaining the Droid X shortages, and it's not Verizon OR Motorola's fault:

This is my first post on this site, but I really like what I'm seeing in these forums thus far. Much more civil than previous places I have been. I ordered my Droid X on the 10th of August in-store. Granted, it was after I got off from work, so it was toward the end of the day. Nevertheless, I haven't received any email from Verizon. The only thing I was told was that the phone was guaranteed to be shipped by the 25th of August.

I called customer support yesterday to see if they had any more information. They confirmed to me what I already knew based on the lack of email - they still have no idea when this thing is going to ship out. With all due respect to everyone here, I am rather upset to see that there are people that have ordered after me and gotten their phone sooner. As one person in this thread said, there's no real order to it from what everyone can discern. This upsets me.

Yesterday's phone call to customer support really had me thinking that what's going to end up happening is that I won't have the phone by the time they promised. If that is the case, I may just cancel the order and keep running the crappy BlackBerry Storm 9530 until something better comes along (of course, that depends on whether or not I can get it). It's just a hunch, but since I'm paying for this phone full retail price, I feel like I'm being treated like a second-class customer compared to the people that are signing a two-year agreement with the purchase of this phone.
