Root kaos froyo v30

Yeah.. it seems like the trackball was sort of an after thought on the Eris, going by posted reports of its less than exemplary functionality.

I'm always taking an alcohol wipe to mine.
 
i'm not able to download pics that are sent to me..... i've been able to send okay, but not receive.

also, when i reboot, none of my widgets load....

last thing, i can't get the setCPU widget back - not sure what i did there, all i can do is a shortcut. ugh!!

i'm a newb, so be gentle....:o

i dont know. i get about the same numbers and i have the brightness set pretty low.
 
A couple newbie questions with this ROM: When you reply to an email in the exchange or regular email app, is there any way to tell? (In stock 2.1, there's a little return arrow that appeared.)

Even though the ROM doesn't support SD card partition, is it still OK to install apps to SD? (There is an application install setting that has automatic, internal and external--is this active and accurate?)

Yes, this ROM doesn't require the partition that a 2.1 based ROM does, but you can still put your apps there if you'd like.

On the exchange email issue--can anyone else see if there's any way to see emails that you have replied to from the inbox of the mail app? (Not Gmail--which is amazing in Froyo.)
 
Wow, I loaded v30 yesterday and my battery life is horrible. I took it off charge at 7am this morning, it's now 11am and I'm at 64% and I haven't even used my phone.

I'm not sure about your first question, as I do not use Exchange mail. For your second, yes, it is ok to move apps to SD, with these caveats:

- do not move a launcher app, or any app that installs as a background process, to SD, as the SD card is not mounted until late in the process of launching;

- do not move apps with widgets that you are planning to use on the home screen, in part for the same reason - the widgets will not be available when the launcher starts when the phone is booted, and also because some of the widgets have problems updating if they app is installed on sd;

- do not move any apps that you may want access to while your phone is connected to your computer and you mount the SD card to your PC, because the SD card is unmounted from the phone while that happens and you will no longer have access to the apps.

Also, I have a ton of apps on my phone and well over 70 MB free, with nothing moved to SD. You may not need to install apps to SD for kaos froyo.

you gotta get "setcpu" from the market and set up profiles for it. i used to get horrid battery life. i set up frofiles, and im gettin MUCH better life.

I DO have setCPU installed and running with profiles.

Running 710/480 on Demand

profiles (in priority order):
Temp >40.8 160/160
screen off 528/122
battery <39% 480/245
Charging/Full 710/480

Try setting the Screen Off minimum to 19200 (i.e., the lowest it can go.) Trust me - it's fine with kaos froyo. With kf I was typically getting about 24 hours battery life. Yesterday I made that change around noon. My phone has been off charge for more than 28 hours now, the battery is at 23%, and I have used my phone no differently from before.

yea set the sleep max down. and make sure it's at 100% priority. ive been off the charger since about 4am and made a few phone calls, texts, app removal and install from market. it's 9:15 here and i'm still at 95%.

I set Screen off down to the lowest and changed priority to 100. I dropped 4% in the last 30 minutes not doing anything. System Panel Light shows a log of apps running, do you guys use a task killer? I do have AutoKiller and have it set to Strict as well. I wiped battery stats before I flashed v30.

No on task killer. (I have System Panel but I use it for FYI only.)

Settings->About phone->Battery Use. What is taking the battery? Top 3?

Mine are:

Display 44%
Wi-Fi 15%
Cell standby 11%

If you look at settings->accounts & sync, do you have a constantly runnig sync going?
