Yes it comes with 2.2 and does not require Root. Works great and has 3 brightness settings. Love it. I use it all the time and once used it for a good 10 minutes non stop. LEDs did not get hot and battery drain was very minimal.

If you open menu it also has an auto flash and SoS..though both are pretty slow. The auto flash is about half second on half second off repeating, far from a strobe. Course, they're just for fun anyways, so far from important

I'm a windows/VMware engineer and NONE of our users have access to usb on their desktops/laptops/servers.

I'm part of a group of about 50 people out of 140,000 employees that have USB access due to my job requirements.

that's my exact situation, except I've had my inc longer than her, she actually wants me to update mine first in case there is any problems with the update. So I see a scenario where she could get the update before me then not even use it until I get mine.

The RUU (whatever that stands for) was posted yesterday. You only have to wait for the OTA if you don't want to wipe your phone.
