Going to sell my captivate..

i was a bit torn on what to say, but really, you dont have the captivate anymore. got find the epic forum now. you will soon see issues there as well. I truly do with you the best of luck with sprint, I hear they are ok....

ok ok, i lied. sprint will leave you hanging. get use to seeing roaming or data roaming on your screen. billing issues are the normal with them too.

I do wish you the best of luck. maybe we will see you back again with another captivate.

Peace dude
LOL I know about the epic forums, and have read about the issues while I lurked on their forums. I think any galaxy s phone is going to have its issues (or any phone for that matter).

I had sprint before att, and admittedly it has been a while, but I had no service our support issues.

Anyway I'm sure I will be around this forum still, after I am a galaxy s brother of yours...or is that cousin now?

Personally, I'd rather have a phone with a GPS fix coming on a network that's nationwide with very little gaps.

I've had Sprint before for a data card. You're fine if you only are ever going to be near major highways, but if you need to go somewhere in the boonies? Good luck. You might have GPS, but you won't have phone signal.

While off-topic, I'm under the impression that Sprint handsets generally roam on Verizon's network, therefore phone signal should always be decent.

I also understand that while roaming on Verizon's network, Sprint handsets will use a very slow data connection and not Verizon's "3G" network.

And youll also pay for the roaming data\voice usage. Unless its a Sprint network whats the point? Its like saying well I have ATT, but can roam on TMobile, its jsut that Id be on edge and be roaming......

BTW whats with all of these poosts saying Im leaving? wouldnt it be best jsut to leave without makig a post about it?

The popular Sprint plans (Simply Everything, Everything Data, etc.) have no roaming charges.

It's like saying "If/when I'm out of my core coverage area, which likely won't be very often, I fortunately won't incur any roaming charges, though I'll just have to live with EDGE data speeds for a little while. Thankfully, my voice coverage shouldn't suffer at all and I'll be able to save $20+ each month for the trade-off."

Played with my buddys driod x today for the first time. I don't know if it's his phone but the scrolling of the apps menu was not a smooth as the captivates. It had alot of lag when opening apps. But could be his phone though.

That's exactly why I'm a former X owner. Powerful and nice looking phone but the random lag killed it for me.

Who's leaving? I think people who are insecure with their purchase are the only ones talking about leaving.
Im loving my galaxy s variant and plan in continuing my visits to all galaxy s forums.

Well the i4 does have hsdpa..enabled stock. Cappy does not I believe (only galaxy S phone not to have it active out of the box).

But yea, I've had an i4 and much prefer android, even if its not a captivate that its running on.

My Captivate has HSDPA out of the box. I was referring to the "I want an iPhone" comedy cartoon video ... :D

Well, as the title reads I am thinking about selling my captivate. If I do I'll probably just dump it in craigslist, hopefully for 200+.

I'm just kind of annoyed with all the little issues with it, and the gps issue.

If I do sell it I will probably get the epic from sprint (as it has features they stripped from the captivate, and I've read that the gps problem isn't present in the epic) or I will forgo the galaxy line of phones entirely for a droidX.

Not sure entirely what I'm going to do,i know other phones also have their share of issues also. I might sit on it, but the gps has put a burden on me as I'm going to be traveling alot more frequently and I don't want to get a standalone unit.

PM sent

I'd rather have the Epic but I've had Sprint before I went to Cingular / ATT. They were the worst bunch of A holes and the service was spotty at best. Going across the country my Sprint phone hardly worked anywhere, my friends Cingular phone worked almost everywhere. And Sprint is charging a mandatory $10 a month more for 4G service even though they only have 4G in a few areas. I'd rather have two cans and a string before I go back to Sprint.

I'm serious and I'll take the phone off your hands for $200.00 Paypal ready. Let me know

in case you missed it, he apparently sold it on craiglist for $350 within an hour

Im gonna go post the Brooklyn Bridge for sale on craiglist in like 5 minutes ;)

I hope sprint got a lot better , because i used to have them back in the days and they were Horrible and that's when i went to PacBell which eventually turned to AT&T .... and i never looked back :D

Put it up asking for 400, 350 was the best offer I got..shrugs.
Considering you don't own the brooklyn bridge that would be a tough sell, but good luck.

Oh and fyi just from the original post up here I got 3 pm's with offers up to 250.

I am kind of in the reverse , amazon hasnt officially received my returned phones they say they will in about two weeks, so they offer me to send me an free replacement. I originally returned my phones due to samsung not announcing an gps fix, but now that they have, wondering if i should get one from amazon now , or wait till an official gps fix is out and tested to be working

.if its something that you are going to depend on then I would either hold off, get a different phone or buy a standalone unit.

Honestly I didn't plan on a galaxy s phone, but hardware wise its just the best line of android phone out. I have been burned by samsung in the past to know that their promise is only as good as their delivery...so personally I would wait. That's not to say they aren't going to fix it, its just to say wait and see that the fix actually works.

$250 i could see, $350.... well, that poor sucker. There's no way in hell I'd buy a used Captivate at this point for $350. Next week they will probably be giving them away if you send in 5 UPC labels for Sea Monkeys.

I am not going to use gps all the time , the turn by turn is nice but its not something i would use that often i dont venture too far from where i live so i pretty much know where everything is lol. I occasionally use where, yelp , and stuff like that which require gps.

Get an iPhone 4 if you must be on AT&T, or wait and see if they ever get a real Android phone made by HTC.

And I wouldn't bother informing everyone you're selling yours, you're just going to get a bunch of people trying to justify their phone isn't crap.

"cool story bro *2007*"

lo

I own an iPhone 4 and find my Captivate almost every bit as good as it, better in some areas worse in others.

People aren't trying to justify shit, this phone is awesome.

You fail. *2008*
