Since Motorola announced that anyone running the leak would not get the official update I would hazard a guess and say that it is different.

Well I could be wrong but are you trying to be a smart ass? My comment came before motos announcement so not sure where you're going with that

I didn't get that tone at all. I think he was just saying that the OTA will probably be different than the leak. What those differences are, who knows. It might even patch what root exploits we've found.

That's what I was getting at. Sorry if that came off wrong :/

I have upgraded. The only issues I am having...

- Battery life is not good. Not sure whether this is an issue with the battery or the OS. But I am having to charge it a time or two a day...especially if I play any music.

- Slow processing. After playing with an iPhone 4 last weekend, the speed on this thing is depressing. For example, when I drag the bar to wake up the phone, sometimes it will lock up for as much as 5-10 secs before actually waking up.

- For some strange reason, I now have these new graphics that appear like clouds that part...especially when I unlock the phone. What the heck are those and how can I get rid of them? All they do is slow down the phone even more.

Look through weather apps to fix the cloud thing (maybe). I know the Eris had a feature where it would play through an animation depending on what the weather was saying.

Ahhh. I have a weather app that is nice. I need to check into that. I may uninstall it to make sure it is the cause.

If it's anything similar to Beautiful Widgets, there may be an option to disable "Unlock Animations" somewhere in the settings...so you may not have to completely uninstall the app.

It returns in a day or so even after a factory reset. A definite bug.

agreed...it did return.

I flashed back to 2.1 yesterday hoping the OTA will be out soon. But damn....I forgot how sh***y it is to be on 2.1

The leak is still 1000% times better than 2.1 and I hope the OTA will only improve upon that. I'm considering upgrading to the leak again and flashing back later......not sure though...I'm pretty lazy.

Does anyone out there know if there will be a copy and paste feature on this version of the software? (V.2.2 Froyo for Droid X). With all the great stuff this phone does, I would think this feature would be added by now.....any news from anyone? THanks - Nick

I know about the copy and paste of phone numbers and addresses into contacts, but other than that, I think it is pathetic that something so basic is not included out of the box on such an amazing device. Even any news on this would be appreciated. THanks.

there is long press copy and paste on leaked version so i would imagine its on the full release, just tested it from browser

All the links seem to be dead now that Moto sent out the C&D letters. Does anyone know where I can get the update.zip 2.2 froyo that did not require root or anything? Thanks in advance.

copy and paste is in mail to but its still crappy. It is under menu-more->select text. It still uses the archaic finger sliding method. Basically swipe and pray.
