Update for me: Upgraded to Froyo via the update.zip method. Did S-OFF before un-rooting for this update. Re-rooted, did nandroid backup, did Titanium backup, removed tons of bloat apps, everything's working great!

for the first time since I have owned my incredible (4 months almost) it took such a bad dump on me the only way i could get it going was to do a factory reset. Started out with low space warnings (BS cause according to system panel I have 5GB left and 225MB ram left on phone, 12GB on SD card.) After the low space warning it told me to start clearing app data, so I did, and moved all I could to the sd card. Started to slow way down to the point when I went in to back up my contacts, it sat on loading for 5 minutes. After that it was like pulling teeth to do anything. At this point I realized there probably no coming back from this so I did a factory reset. Now it seems to be ok so far. I have used this phone so much it requires 2 to 3 charges per day, and nothing like that has ever happened till now. Damn:eek:

I think the low space warning might have been related to the ROM not RAM or storage. It's a known issue.

As for the lag and stuff: It's happened to a lot of people who just did the OTA or Update.zip without a clean wipe. 2.2 is a major upgrade, and really requires a wipe else you are likely to have major issues.

Sorry you had all the problems, but hopefully everything is fine now!

I don't know about his, but you can answer mine if u'd like :D

Is the only way to check for the update is by going to: menu--settings--about phone--system updates??

That is how I found mine. I saw my 3G arrows were staying lit up for a while, which was unusual, so I went to System Updates and saw it downloading.

On my wife's Eris, when it got updated to 2.1, people suggested using *#*#CHECKIN#*#* (use the matching numbers) and it eventually worked for hers. It didn't end up working for me. I tried it every day like 15 times. For this, you just type exactly what I showed above into your dialer but don't press send. You'll see it do the rest. It checks for updates for apps (and I think system too).

Hi I was jealous everyone was getting theirs and I hadn't so I tried the date change and went to system update and their it was, CA Here, Thanks everyone

Well, well, well. I had all but put getting the update out of my mind, and low and behold, in the middle of changing some settings in ADW, BAM, here's my update! And here I thought I was going to bed soon. :D
