Yeah, that's what I did too. The only issue with that is you can't get https sites, such as email, shopping etc. However, if you pay the one time fee of around 18 bucks you are good to go. Works like a charm.for the time being why don't you just download pdanet from the app store. it will allow you to usb tether very easily.

I'm surprised there hasn't been an update from unrevoked since yesterday.

And so i dont create another useless post, can someone confirm .. does the rooting process wipe the phone?
Also once you have root, you can flash a ROM correct? Does that wipe the phone again every time you flash a new ROM?

4. WIPE
5. Install the ROM
To flash a ROM (from SR3):

3. Reboot into recovery
4. Do a nandroid backup
5. Perform a full wipe (This includes RC2)
6. Select "install zip from sdcard"
7. Select the file and you're on your way to happiness
i read that as well. i'm ready to go as soon as they are haha. Most recent twitter update from unrEVOked says they're working on 3.21 and will be putting out test builds soon.
that's what i thought. so rooting using the unrevoked 3.21 and using their process wont wipe anything but later on down the road if i choose to flash a different ROM THAT is when i will have to back everything up etc?Rooting does not wipe the phone.
Flashing a rom i will almost always wipe the phone. It avoids most of the problems users seem to have when flashing roms over roms. Titanium backup however is awesome and can be used since you are rooted.
loli hope they dont take as long as vzw did to let froyo out
:nervous
If you are rooted with Clockwork Mod, you will not get the update from what I hear.
shouldnt be too longBig thanks to all the unrEVOked 3.21 testers sticking around on IRC to help others get up and running. Testing is going great.
Okay, I am getting so frustrated please help.
I have tried rooting my HTC Incredible a few times with the Unrevoked3 v3.14.
Everytime it comes up with "Failed to flash recovery image".
I have tried all the things I have seen other users try; get rid of HTC Sync from both phone and computer, use something other than Windows 7 64 bit, I have even gone to the point of doing a factory reset thinking there was something on my phone that was stopping it.
I have 2.2 on my phone and am thinking that I need the Unrevoked3 v3.21 they are about to release and that this may be my problem but it seems the v3.14 should work.
Any ideas? Thanks
you cant use unrEVOked tool on 2.2 until 3.21 comes out. just wait or you can downgrade to 2.1 then do it if you really want toOkay, I am getting so frustrated please help.
