Root Brand New Froyo 2.3.13

Ok.. having to restore my last nandroid and try to flash this nandroid over it again... i forgot to do an advanced restore... so I'll report more later on whether it is better or not to just do a full restore with this nandroid or just the system.

Took me 3 times to get this thing going correctly. On the first two attempts everything seemed to work except I was _not_ deodexed (I suggest you all verify this if you haven't). I had to format /system for this to work.

Also, in the screenshot on MyDroidWorld, the OS version is reported as 2.6.32.9-ga42712e. My OS version is 2.6.32.9-gfb07887.

I saw someone on another forum mention they had this discrepancy as well. Can people check and report their version? Just go to Settings, About Phone, and look under Kernel Version (or go to System Info in Quadrant).

So I did an advanced restore after I cleared my cache and just restored the system with the nandroid provided. Worked great, still have root but my theme is gone. Gonna reinstall it. Anyone know if this is deodexed or not?

I have the same version, 2.6.32.9-gfb07887. No problems showing from this on my phone.

I put REVOlution theme back on, and yes it is. The download file specifically says "DX-2313-Deodexed". At least the one I got from the link at Mydroidworld.

I did an advanced restore with retrokids nandroid (cleared cache first) and it seems to have worked fine. Still have root but system is odexed. Kernel version is also 7887. I'll have to deodex, remove bloat, and edit build prop again. Also no changes in quadrant scores.

Maybe I am wrong but all the .odex files are in system/app. Aren't they deleted when deodexed?

Yeah, should be. Mine aren't there. I put revo theme back on immediately after. Then I did something stupid and put FlyX back on and it reverted back to the previous leak. I reinstalled it again and put the theme back on again. Both times I didn't even bother to check since I had faith that it was deodexed since the file name said so.

I guess everyone messes with their phones differently, so there is the possibility that an install like this could not install properly. I have even read on mydroidworld that people had to redownload the file because it just would just say it failed to install.

*edit* Now what we need is Tranquility 2.3 release or FlyX 1.0!

I just did a search on my entire system directory and found no .odex files. So this should mean its deodexed.

YOU SHOULD PULL THAT NANDROID DOWN!!!

everyone that is using it will have your Contact list and accesss to one of you email accounts!!!!!
Lol.. I didn't use it, but wow, that's funny. Yeah.. I wouldn't want 100+ random people knowing that info or any info about me for that matter.

Thats weird... I have no .odex files in my system. Yes, I did a restore from the nandroid, but I did an advanced restore and only restored the system.

I did the same. No big deal can always deodex, just not sure it's worth the time yet. I don't see or feel any differences yet

Yeah... I noticed that too.... thats why I restored advanced only... so I didn't get his info...

Check your google account.

I got a Google Account error and when I looked it, it was his account, his contact list, and an email got pushed to my phone. Not Good!

I didn't get any of his info with an advanced system only restore, but it def needs to be taken down

I did an advanced system only and at first I had my info but it changed once it started syncing. Who's name is on your google account? Did you have to do the setup after you did the restore? If you come in to the phone after using his backup and your past the setup you will have his account. There is no way to get into the phone to do the backup without having setting your Google account during setup. I can tell you this he seems to have something for Footlocker :D

I lost root when I updated to this, following the droid 2 walk through to get root back that was posted on the 2nd page, when I'm trying to push the superuser.apk, I get the error that it fails says read only file system. Can any one help me with this?

okay I pulled it down, but I plan on releasing one that doesn't have any info, so...

How? wouldn't you have to back it up before the setup? Is there a way to edit the Google account user name? If not it isn't going to work out.
