Not one but two free eris's

Hey everyone, run don't walk, run to a Verizon store or call customer service as fast as you can if you got an Eris or Moto droid in the last thirty days. I bought my first one three weeks ago online and with my new every two credit and the online discount it was free! Now they are running a deal this weekend only BOGO on Eris and Moto droids and they are honoring purchases up to thirty days ago. So now I just got off the phone with them and got my wife an Eris for free!!! Two droids, no charge.:D:D:D:D:D What an awesome deal on a very good phone. Also the customer rep confirmed the updates for the Eris to 2.0 OS in Dec and Jan.
 
I missed the commercial. I bought my eris less than 30 days ago. I did the instore deal I got it for free also, I just have to send in the rebate. So how do I get another Eris? With the service I have, I am eligable for the new every 2.... evey year.

if you bought within thirty days they will give you a second one free. just call customer service or go to a store
 
THANK YOU for the info. Although I didn't get a credit for my phone (which I had paid $49.99 for) I did get a $99 credit for my husband's phone.

The service person told me there was no planned date for the upgrade to 2.0. Hopefully she is wrong!
 
the deal is cool. i dont want to do it because I dont want to add another line but that's the deal. You can get a free phone as long as you add another line to your plan. I just got off the phone with VZN
 
My wife and I just renewed about a month ago...she was a little bit before me. I waited for the Eris and she went with the Storm. She hated it as I thought she would. I called Verizon this morning and she will be getting the Eris because of the BOGO! Hopefully she likes it as much as I like mine.
 
Ok what number are you guys calling for this. I just tried consumer sales and they flat out turned me down, maybe its the CSR I received?

I just called *611 from my phone. The CSR I talked to said he had to verify if it was retroactive, put me on hold for about 2 minutes, and then came back and said we were good to go.
 
I called and unfortunately my wife isnt eligible for an upgrade til 2/2010 and the CSR wouldnt push the date any further than 1/2010...
 
Even if this could be confirmed, I'm sure they're not going to let you walk out of the store with a new Eris without it being binded to a damn contract.

The deal ends on Monday. It is definaltely legit. Call them yourself.

However, you have to add a new line to your plan and have the second Eris activated with a Data Plan. I asked all the questions.

But if you're ready to activate another line, you can definately get a second phone for free. The promotion ends Monday.
 
On the phone is VZW *611 right now.

It is retro active (purchased 11/12) and since I have a line eligible for the new every 2 it is being shipped today. Without an eligible line, you need to activate a new line in order to get the free phone.

Since the line did not have a smartphone plan, we are placing that on to the account right now.

Sweet, that saves me a christmas gift :D

Edit - They do charge $100 to the account which is reimbursed through a mail in rebate.
 
of course you need a contract. if you have the phone your going to stay with Verizon so whats the big deal? i got two free Eris phones and signed a new contract for two more years. I've been with Verizon for 10 years now where am i going? bottom line is two free phones no BS. just call Verizon if you don't believe me. Dracos, call customer service not sales. are you already a customer?
 
oh yeah, i didn't have to add another line because the second phone is upgrading an existing one. so my phone was free and an upgrade and so is my wifes. hey ataranine ITS NO CROCK!

That's exactly what I thought. So it's not exactly free, now is it? ;)
 
lol yea I guess...

I mean, the 'device' is free but the service of course is not. I was hoping I could just get a second device and have it as a spare, gift it, or sell it! lol........of course not though...................silly me! :)

who ever said the service was free? all i said was i got 2 devices free. i already had verizon service with vcast on my old phone so my bill only goes up 15 dollars over my old phone. what good is the phone with no service? now we get to upgrade my wifes phone for free. boy, you people want everything. and like i said i didnt have to add a line because i already have three line on our account. all we did was upgrade the phones on two of them. its not that complicated or some big conspiricy.

I'm just happy to get 2 of these phone for free. I'm new to smart phones and to get this technology for free is amazing. I don't mind paying for the service and now I have a free Christmas gift for my wife and the way things went this year, I'll take it. Now all we need is 2.0 or 2.1 for the Eris and we'll be all set.

absolutely! just havin fun. I mean, seriously....I would have sold it...........

So I called right away! Im not married, but i have asked my girl numerous times if she wanted an eris. I want her to have one but she just dosnt want one.............so i would either keep it incase mine broke or sell it

lol but since we all have at least a bit of common sense, I think we all know you need to add service to it. But it was worth calling and asking :p
