Root Brand New Froyo 2.3.13

Am I and idiot but I cannot the Koush Bootstrap on here anywhere. I just search the forums and I see people talking about it but nowhere do I see where it can be dl'ed. If I'm just stupid and overlooked it it would be much appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction.

Ok wow looks like I missed a lot over the weekend! ok so from reading 5 pages of stuff it looks like the best way to do this now is to dl dark matters nandroid, put it onto my clockwork recovery backup folder, then install it through there installing the system only?

If you are already at 2.2 deoxed (sp) make a backup and try the normal way. It worked first time for me and I had zero problems and I didn't even lose root. the nandroid save is a nice way to get there though.

I'm trying to upload a backup that has Flyx final + Traquilty 2.3.23 and root with Red_Upgrade theme installed.

If Clockworks time stamps made any since I'd have it done by now but I've had to try and figure out which backup is which and it's taking a little longer than I though. I have it now so I'll upload it shortly.

Any way the 2.3.13 upgrade isn't always hard or causes problems it was very easy of me.

I went to root wiki and got ready to re root by pushing everything I would need if I lost root but stopped at the point where you run the root app.

I then followed the steps to install the 2.3.13 update and it worked like a charm. The only thing I lost was my Theme but simply reinstalled it. I'm guessing it worked for others also but you only hear from the ones having problems so sometimes it seems worse than it really is.

I'll be uploading my save shortly though if you want to go that route my backup has just a little installed and themed than DarkMatters. Nothing to write home about though.

You do not need to be rooted to do this correct?

You have to be rooted to run bootstrap recovery
This is basically for those worried they will loss root and don't want to do the ADB re root.

Any body want to test mine? I don't want to release to the world until it's been tested. if so PM me ASAP. If you don't know how to recovery if there's a problem don't volunteer:D

So i can download this without rooting? and it will be 2.3.13 unrooted? (then im thinking about rooting) sorry im a noob to droids.

You can't install it as an update. You need to unzip it and place the folder with the backup folder located within the clockworkmod folder. You'll need to pull the battery to get out of the stuck status bar, don't worry the phone will boot right when when you press the power button.

Ok, connected the phone and have it as USB Storage, however where is the "backup folder" located? What is the exact name?

You need to have Koush bootstrap app. It will let you boot to clockwork recovery where you can restore to the nandroid..It makes a folder on your sdcard called clockworkmod and inside it will have a backup folder where you need to place the nandroid.

The name of the folder is backup, you need to find it in the clockworkmod folder which will be on the SDCard.

dumb question...when we load DarkMatters Nandroid, we will lose all of our settings and backups correct? It would make sense to just run the new build on your own to save your settings an everything else right? Please tell me if I am being an idiot!

just restore system and everything will be there still

Soooooo... Why do i even want this update? What fixes/new additions are there? My current deodexed build of the original leak is working great. can anyone who has done this already report on improvements?

I am still getting the MD5 sum error when tryint to system restore the nandroid backup. I am using the newest version of bootstrap. I have the leaked 2.2 rooted. No FlyX, No Tranquility. I upgraded to 2.2 with Koush's update.zip I did NOT move the su file. Any suggestions?

I was getting the same error so I downloaded again, from download 2 this time, unzipped the file and then placed it in the backup folder that is inside of the clockworkmod folder and everything installed properly.
