Root Brand New Froyo 2.3.13

So the advanced restore of just system is cool to run on clockwork recovery?? But if you use that method you wont get the market fix right? ?

I also heard of the build.props bringing you back to 2.3.9??

What do??

Im psyched about the wifi too so im going to do this as soon as I get the right idea.

Doesn't the build.props just fake it? Does it really revert?
I was just about to post my nandroid save and I was taking screen shots when I noticed it said 2.3.9 I'm like WTF and thought I had spent all that time working on the wrong one. LOL Now I know it was really the 2.3.13. Grrrr

I'm not sure what fixed the Wifi but mine as been on solid, at home where it was the worse, and that alone is is a BIG plus for me.

The Wifi dropping was so bad at times, here at my house, that it was switching between 3g and wifi so often it was like having no connection at all.

I would have to disable wifi when I was home just so I could use the internet on the phone.

Its solid on now and hasn't dropped once since the update.

I wonder what went wrong for me...did you end up with duplicate music apps? (com.android.music and com.google.android.music?)

The strange thing for me is that cubed player didnt recognize any music files either, and as soon as I restored my /system back to the last backup I made, both programs played music just fine...

Did you do the full Nandroid restore? Or did you do only the advanced restore of /system?

I also have several duplicate apps. Music is one, It does work though, but it constantly tells me to clear defaults in the application settings. I also have Gallery twice, car home, Spare parts and terminal emulator. After looking a closer (as I write this) it seems one of the versions are now system apps and one isn't. I've uninstalled the non sys ones (just now) so I'll see how that goes.

Cube is working fine for me.

my wifi has always been solid

Same with me, I will say that so far this 2.3.13 has been working flawlessly for me as or yesterday morning, when I installed it.

When I was finding duplicate apps I deleted the non-google apps and haven't had a problem.

Does any of these Build.prop files in Rom manager fix the market problem? And where did the thread that explains how to fix it go?

lucky!
It's s fairly large and known problem. You probably have some old 300 baud router, everyone knows Bots hate to throw old router out. They prefer dating them instead.

yeah don't tell it but I am cheating on it for fios

I am running the original 2.2 leak with absolutely no problems. If not for memory management (512K) I don;t think I would even consider the OTA.

leaked 2.2 runs 2.6.32.9 kernel

android 2.2 platform highlights2.6.32 kernel upgrade
  • HIGHMEM support for RAM >256MB
  • SDIO scheduling and BT improvements
i don't know why everyone assumes thats its not working with himem in our leak. wouldn't the droid2 be a lot quicker and more responsive than our leaked 2.2 on the x if that were the case?

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed anything but my battery is lasting even longer now than it did with 2.2. I unplug my phone at 7:00am and as of 4:25pm I'm still at 80% and I have been using it quite a bit today.

Yeah, I've been getting great battery life too. Off the charger at 8am today and at 3:45 now and still at 70%.

I've also noticed things are a little quicker and smoother too, are you getting the same thing? I did rename 70 of the stock apps and it has been flawless since, so far I'm really liking it a lot.

Did you happen to write those down

Currently I have a rooted 2.1 phone. Considering upgrading, but is there a way to do it properly and not have to re-install all my apps?

Or would my best bet be to backup using titanium backup follow the directions in the first post and upgrade, then use abd for root (never done this), then restore with titanium backup?

I downloaded Rom manager but I can't seem to make a rom of my phone with it, it simply restarts my phone..Not sure I would trust this program to load the update.

Or maybe I'm better off waiting for a tranquility or flyx release (whatever the difference is between those 2 :P that includes this latest build?) The reason I want the update is for better performance and I'm waiting to junk all the crapware until I update. Should I wait?
