Update... bueller...anyone?

At one point I was thinking we need to have a little patience, the phone has only been out for two weeks. But that went out the window when I see them pushing their Media Hub stuff before taking care of certain fixes.

Come on Samsung, how about having some priorities!

They are a for profit company. Their priorities are money. ;)

Nothing here in Michigan...I agree with other posts though, why not more important changes in this update. Most of this I could care less about...

Well, it's now 12:09 AM Friday morning... still no update. So much for the 16th. :( Bummer Samsung, I am starting to look like a fool for so animatedly supporting you in these forums! When everyone said that Samsung never supports their mobile devices, I argued that the collective worldwide release of the Galaxy S line would ensure that they would support these devices.

If only the world revolved around you :p Still nothing for me :( It's like they pick 1 person every hour to get the update.

LOL sorry didn't mean it that way. I just thought they released it around that time. I read that they are releasing it in groups so I guess my area just got lucky. I'm sure it will be available to everyone soon enough. I don't notice much difference at all except the media hub - which is ridiculously overpriced :)

Well that is discouraging... I was hoping to get to use it a lot. If it's HD quality stuff... it might come in handy for something I don't already have...

Who is at fault Samsung or Sprint for the update?
I agree with the rest, instead of pushing overpriced services (ala Media Hub), fix the overpriced phone we bought and stop the battery drain.
No update IL, 17th 7.05am

I'm getting very angry. I figured it would HAVE to be out to everyone by now. It's already 8:30AM on the 17th for me.

Why is everyone getting their panties in a bunch about when this update arrives? Geez folks, just go about your business and when it happens, it happens.

You are correct the update is really not that important - what is important is when someone says one thing and does not deliver that gets me thinking do I really want to do business with that someone again.

Because they're late on pushing out an update to a couple hundred thousand customers? Of all the things to get honked off about, this doesn't seem like it should rate particularly high.

Let's hear you say that when the 2.2 update rolls around... or they announce that they are pushing a fix for the GPS & 3g upload limit.

Hey, it gets here when it gets here. Unless my phone is useless with the current software or so badly flawed I hate even using it, I just soldier on with what I've got. After 8 years of BlackBerry and manual software updates, this OTA push update is quite a luxury. I'll take it any way it comes, and I'll say "thank you" for it. :)

Indeed. If they can't even get the delivery of this update right, how long will it take them to rollout a 'real' update like 2.2? Not a good sign at all.

By the way, it's 10:40AM on the East Coast and I still don't have it. Just checked manually to make sure.

I take it nobody read my comments above? Go to the official Sprint Epic 4G forum (at sprint.com) and you will see a thread about this very subject. One of the admin there explains exactly why not everyone is getting the update at the same time. You have to have some patience with this! Rolling out the update to everyone in the U.S. at the same time would overload their server and then NOBODY would get the update.

I guess I just have more understanding about this situation, being an IT person and dealing with this sort of stuff regularly. Have a little understanding and patience, folks. Your update will come through eventually.
