Root I am rooted...now what?

Now that I am rooted what the hell should I do? I have Wifi Tether and Shoot Me but what else should I do?

The easiest way is just to use Titanium Backup. You'll want to get that app anyway for your app/data backup's. It's in the market.

Make sure you run a Nandroid backup AND a titanium backup before you start messing with your phone. If you accidentally remove something you need, you'll want to be able to get it back.

Cool.....thanks!!

Do you have s-off or just root? If you have s-off, you'll be able to do all of the uninstalls right from the phone. I use Root Explorer for removing system apps and tinkering with system files like fonts and whatnot.

Exactly how do I do this with Root Explorer? I just rooted, and have no idea :p

EDIT: I did it through titanium.

What's the difference in removing apps via command line vs. using titanium?

Is there ANY reason I would want a backup of city id or any other bloatware?

Once you remove all the apps you don't want, if you need to unroot for warrantee return, does that put the apps back on or do you need to save them and put them back on yourself before unrooting?

Found titanium backup in the Market but I couldn't find Nandroid. When I typed it in "Eris Market Fix-"free" and "donation" came up. Is that it?

So, I'm also on the "I rooted, now what?" bandwagon. I have no clue what to do now. Also... my phone is ridiculously slow after rooting... any ideas? I've rebooted like 10 times.

If I uninstall these apps through Titanium after creating a backup file then I can restore them if I ever need to unroot, right? *nervous*

Where do I go from here? Do I need to do the s-off thing? If so, how? How do I find and install new UIs (ROMs?), kernels (NO clue what these are, saw it mentioned everywhere), etc.? I feel so incredibly clueless... no pun intended.

Thanks in advance for all the help :)

If you ever need to unroot, you can run the 2.2 RUU and your phone will be returned to out of the box condition with all the same bloatware you are thinking of removing.
