First time phone set up?

I'm not sure how to set up my phone for use, I'm going from an ENV2. I want to transfer the service to this phone, but I don't know how to do it. Never got any instructions for that.

Also first time I turned on my phone manual says I was supposed to get a gmail setup screen, and I never did, any help?
 
Sometimes the *228 activation service is down.

Do you have an online account at verizonwireless.com?

It's pretty easy to activate a phone that way too, just enter the new ESN.
 
Upper right hand corner, just left of the battery icon and time. How many bars? Do you have 1x, 3G, or just bars?
 
I think you need to find somewhere where you are getting at least 1x, but 3g would be better.

Again, I think???
 
Yay, it worked..

Followed that list, but had to select activate phone after changing the MIN and MDN, and THEN I selected update roaming. Worked great, running 3G now :0
 
Lots of it. There's a full moon and I'm dealing with friggen LUNATICS(look up the definition).
Anyone that doesn't believe it affects humans needs to work in the health field for a few lunar cycles.
