EVO availability for sprint employees and advantage club

Its looking like the EPIC may actually be offered to us first. I might have to jump on the EPIC even though I prefer the EVO since it may be 2011 before the EVO is available to everyone.

Well.. its kinda like a catch 22. You get the best plan available but you have to wait on new phones. thats why I just go the route of using the plan and buying outright... works better for me.

Well, at least they told us two things now.
a) It is not going to happen until end of October
b) They are expecting it to happen end of October (First time that we have seen a committed date coming from Sprint).

Now lets hope that they keep their promise!!

Not a promise and it is a speculation on their part that the end of October looks good.

Kind of like when your a kid and mom or dad goes "we might get ice cream after dinner".

After dinner comes no ice cream and you go "but you promised!!!!!...................."

I know they can't promise a certain date, but I think sometime in October should be reasonable. Now that the Epic is out, the rush for the Evo should be diluted a little, and maybe HTC can keep up with the supply/demand ratio that has been working against us SWAC users since the launch of the Evo back in June.

I added a new EVO on my personal account & swapped phones between accounts.... 2 MONTHS AGO! Even if you have to open a new account to do it, it's WELL WORTH the hassle!

lol... next month itll be December. By the time they let yall get it there will be a new phone out. That's just crazy, this phone has been out since the beginning of June. Im glad I just went ahead and bought mine.. by the time it comes available for upgrade we may be seeing 2 ghz phones lol

Question now is will the advantage club and employees get the EVO before the EVO2 is released to the general public? The race is on!

this week .. in London.. HTC is announcing some new phones...keep you fingers crossed that sprint will get one of them.

The latest scoop on HTC EVO 4G and Samsung Epic 4G employee availability

These are exciting times indeed

I have been holding onto my Sprint Diamond for way to long -- its being held together with tape! I was first wowed by the possibility of getting Nexus one -- now the never appearing EVO or maybe Epic!

I have a quick question, i am on a sprint wireless advantage plan thanks to a good friend. However according to a recent call to sprints wireless club hotline i wont be able to upgrade to the evo or epic 4g until the end of october. Are you shitting me, i have been waiting patiently for over 2 months and still wont be able to get the phone for another 1 and a half? Therefore i have been exploring some different avenues on how to get this phone, i have heard some stories about people who have left the employee plan and signed up as a new customer to receive the phones faster and then have transferred back on to the employee plan. Now my question is, can that really be done, i mean dont you have to sign a two year contract, and if so will sprint actually let you just quit your contract early and sign up back as a sprint wireless advantage customer? Second question I have is, if the above question is answered with a yes, how long do i have to wait to switch back to my employee account? I have $250 saved up to purchase either phone and am afraid i will end up spending it on something, therefore i need a response ASAP. Any info would help, thanks in advance.

i dont think that will work.

I have been thinking of a work around too.
the only thing i have come up with that will work...
1. purchase the phones out right.
- full price from sprint
- ebay or craiglist
2. activate on your current plan.

i have found you can get on craigslist for $350 to $400.

According to my Advantage Club sponsor, once you quit the AC, you can't come back. So I don't think your plan will work.

I was available for an upgrade in March, and have been waiting somewhat impatiently to get rid of my MotoQ since then. At the time, I had been following rumors of the "Supersonic", now the Evo, and figured I would upgrade as soon as it came out. And here I sit, still waiting. At this point, I wish I would have just picked up a Hero back in March, and then upgraded to whatever new awesomeness was available in March 2011. At least I would have a mediocre Android phone instead of this stupid WinMo phone.

Technically, you could start a "regular" plan and cancel within 30 days, then transfer the EVO to your SWAC.

The obvious drawbacks to that are:

* you'd probably lose the rebate, negating the financial gain.
* you most likely get hit with a credit inquiry.

So, again, probably it's better to just buy outright.
