Root [ROM] rubiX Focused 0.3 by drod2169

Installed this over a random Deodexed 2.2 from someone on these forums and at first I was a bit disappointed, with quadrant scores in the upper 1300s, then on the 3rd run (I was running it 3 times to get an average) I hit 1528 with subsequent runs in the mid to high 1400s. Bringing my average for this Rubix build up to 1417, while my average for the Deodexed 2.2 I was running was only 1377 for 3 runs. Nice little improvement and to top it all off it seems faster overall, which is likely placebo effect but it feels less laggy in many different places compared to what I was running.

I think it is overall running better. My quadrant scores are in the 1450 range average. I do miss the old Car Dock. This one doesn't seem to have the same amber night setting or an option to add an app. This seems weird since there is a blank space on the panel. If anyone knows how to add an app or if you can post the stock apk, I would appreciate it. I use Slacker in the car daily.

About the only thing new is a basic Android boot animation. Everything else looks stock. The app drawer just has a lot fewer apps. Of course I added some back when restoring my data.

I just tried to copy the cardock.apk from my old Nandroid to the SD card. When I restored back to this ROM, I tried to install it, but the install failed. Anyone know why that is? Any ideas of how to get the stock Droid x Car Dock to work on this ROM? I love the blurless ROM, but I cannot live without the good car dock. Thanks.

Are the permissions set properly for the app?

As many times I tried to install system app as system app... never worked for me, install always failed. Anyway, you can find directions here:

And there is a replacement for car dock:

don't forget to mount the system when doing this or you will brick your phone:(

When doing what? The flash of the ROM or installing the Car Dock?

I also noticed the alarm and timer app is gone. I guess this too was a moto app. No biggie there since there are plenty of alarm apps. The Moto Car Dock is FAR superior to all apps in the market.

I do not think permissions matter since the install fails before I get that far. Is there another folder I need to make writable in root explorer?

flashing the rom:(

I think I am going to throw in the towel on this one. I tried installing the app from the system/app folder with all permissions open and read/write on. No luck. The other car apps are OK, but moto actually got this one right. I think I need a blurless ROM with just a little blur :) Going back to R2D2. It was fun playing with this today.

well, bless all of those guys :) By the way, even after applying fix for calendar, it's still doesn't sync :-/

Its happened to a few people, the fix for everyone was they did not mount the system before flashing the calender zip. You should see the little progress bar like when flashing a Rom. If you mounted the system and flashed both the brightness and calender at the same time only one flashes, I confirmed that this morning. Hope this helps.
