Do you mean completely remove from the system or just hide so you dont know its there? Removing certain apps is possible if you are rooted
 
Thanks to rugrat1965 for showing me how to delete stuff. Now I have seven screens available to me at "Home" and four are now blank. Is there a way I can add stuff to those empty screens? For example, Gmail icon?

Go to the empty screen that you want to add a shortcut to....hit your "applications" button....long press on any of the apps and Shazzam! You can add or remove any of those 7 screens by hitting the little gear on the top left of your home page. Also, you can add shortcuts or widgets by long pressing on the background on your home pages. Have fun!
