Update From Mobile Phones Direct

I was hoping it would come this friday. But i think it'll be way more than 6 days for me. I cancelled my order with BMP and went with MPD and i only placed an order on the 18th Oct. I'll be the last person to get it *groans*

yeah... i got impatient:rolleyes: lol. i knew i couldn't hold out (esp because i'm only off work for another day). no hd's in canary wharf, but they had (still have?) them nearby at phones4u in stratford, so i went in yesterday lunch and picked one up.

so far, so amazing! fell asleep playing with it last night, lol. i've always been on blackberrys or iphones, so this level of customisation and general software depth (i love how everything integrates so well!) is really amazing to me.

Hows the Camera and video recording abilities? Got any problems like other people around here? Jeez i'm at uni right now and i'm still on the bloody forums. Talk about desperation.
 
have been using iphone 4 since launch, so am a bit spoiled on the camera front. i'd say the screen quality lets down the camera a little (images don't appear crystal clear - there's a dotty appearance, which i can't really explain - i think it's from the touch display?). images themselves are fine (and much better than most other phones), but not stunning.

haven't had any probs with the proximity sensor. made/received plenty of calls with no issues.

battery life... not sure yet. it was 100% at about 1am last night and is now on 60% (i've got things running in background, 100% brightness and exchange server email on push with about 10 emails in/out every 15 or so mins).

On s side note, I cancelled my order with MPD because of an immediate change to my financial situation (having to fly out after my holiday again to see relative who is ill :( ).

Family comes first we say :)

On the side not, I will get this sim free via HTC who I am discussion with over a cheap deal which involves me reviewing their products and some other stuff too.

But If I get it that way.Works out over 12 months I've only paid
 
I still have my order with MPD. I emailed them to ask what the stock situation was on Sunday, they didn't get back to me so I chased it again yesterday morning and got a rather brief email stating that they aimed to have the handset delivered within seven days. I'd imagine it will show up on Monday or Tuesday now. It's a bit of a shame that other suppliers have had stock for a week now but MPD still don't, especially when they brag about being a HTC Specialist Partner or whatever.
 
Monday OR Tuesday. I don't care as i'm pretty much home those days :D Just hope it comes next week or i'm gonna be ANGREH! :mad:

Yeah, hopefully it will arrive Mon/Tues...

Either way I will get home form work greeted with a collection slip and will not be albe to collect unitl lunch time the next day :mad:
 
i emailed them to give me a specific date of when they will deliver the phone. no response till now. if the phone doesn't arrive next mon or tuesday i'm gonna cancel it and find somewhere else. waited too long for it. lol
 
It's going down, added a deal to the basket, says "allow 5 days" So if that's for new customers they must have a fair few in. If you interpret that as days it is Tuesday, working days Thursday/Friday

Can't wait myself, my iPhone 3G seems like an aadvark!
 
I canceled my order with MPD, went into CPW after work yesterday, left the shop 30mins later with a DHD in my pocket!!

Unbranded no bloatware....

Bloody amazing phone, so so fast and responsive. Screen is amazing in comparsion to ifone 3GS!

Just could not wait any longer with MPD knowing they are in stock @ the CPW

i wonder if anyone is left waiting on mpd now

mines due today but unfortunately bad timing i wont be here unless it n up in the next hour

will be back next week and give u all an update
 
I'm still waiting on MPD but i only ordered mine two days ago. I'm not too bothered about waiting.. I just hope i get a phone that has no problems.
 
I went in to CPW yesterday. They hadn't got any and told me it wouldn't be available till the 22nd (today), and then only on contract. I told him that many people had posted here saying they had bought one, and he genuinely seemed surprised. Has anyone bought it SIM free from CPW, or is it all on contract?
 
I have just spoken to customer services. It will be the end of next week that they will have the phones! She couldn't tell me why they are having them later than everyone else.
Now thinking of following others and cancelling

Oh what the fu- I should have sticked with BMP instead. I would of had it now. They even got voted online retailer of the year. And there customer service is great. I got a message on twitter personally from an MD (whatever that stands for) telling me that the desires stock will be coming in tommorow. Was gutted that i've cancelled it..

Hmm, I was debating to buy mine sim free now on MPD as it says 4 days, I have it ordered on BMP on O2 contract, but was told delivery is 10 - 15 days on 21/10/10.
I hope they do come in tomorrow and i get mine soon!

So why are they saying 4 days for delivery.. the fookers!!
 
I agree, it's pretty poor that they don't just be honest and say "delivery by (date)"

I went into CPW High Wycombe - none in stock till Monday
