Help droid x call quality- need help with ##7764726

I have read that you can improve the call quality by following these steps How to Increase Droid X Call Quality however when I try to dial the ##7764726 and press send the phone starts to dial that number instead. It shows the Enter SPC password for a split second and then goes to dialing.

How can I change this so that it stops and I can enter the SPC password and follow the rest of the steps?

I have google voice installed and disabled it and it still does not work. I have updated my droid x to froyo also so Im up to date.

Any help please.

I must say the quality is fine the way it is. What brought this up in the first place(meaning the article and the idea)? Not trying to bash the OP here, just curious.

My call quality sucks. When Im on a call I hear like static or like the speaker crackles. I have to lower the volume to get the sound to be acceptable however then I cant hear the person very well since the sound is low.

I kept having to repeat myself with some people (not all) that I called. Was it their phone or mine, don't really know.

I've seen 3 different threads about updating call quality due to encoding options, Thought I would give it a whirl.

No issues so far.

Wow, maybe they changed it on the newer phones? After updating to .340, my code is most definitely still six zeroes.

Is this on every call, or just certain people? I know that if I talk to my mom on her cellphone, I can expect poor quality, but that's because she's on AT&T with an iPhone4. Their poor call quality was half the reason I left them, but it still affects me when I talk to someone still on AT&T.

I restarted the phone and it still does not work. It just skips the part to enter the password.

I had to manually activate my phone with this code with customer service.\
when you are typing in the ##746... number, be sure you are only touching the numbers; try not to "fat finger" it.
