2.1 FW Approved!!

from the lack of release date for north america im gonna assume the ****ers over at se are afraid of the retaliation they may receive from us if they release 2.1 and it isnt just right, haha

rofl.. "retaliation". I highly doubt it.

You do realize that while 2.1 is imminent, the other part of the update (2.1x) isn't coming until 2011, right?

Better get on that "retaliation" ;)

Oh here we go guys - bets ARE on

clearly you havent seen the headaches i cause for the wonderful people at rogers. haha. currently awaiting x10 number 4 :D

funny thing is when i asked for the last one they didnt even try to help they just said they were gonna send it out. gotta love rogers for their easy customer service, most of the time :D

little off topic, how do you like the liquid e? it was a toss up between that and this piece of crap when i bought it 3 months ago.

The Liquid E is honestly fantastic :\ Too bad it's my husband's ;-)

But its got everything going for it. We haven't found fault with it yet. It is a really snappy/responsive phone with (as far as we've seen thus far) really great battery life.

man i really wish the acer won the coin toss. really what drew me to the x10 was its large screen and impressive camera. what i should have done was read up about android systems and compared it that way. stupid me. oh well, im gonna go visit ebay and see if i can find a liquid e cheap, lol

Despite having my husband's little miracle to compare the X10 to (he originally had the LG Eve and after seeing how hideous that thing was, we switched him within a week, lol), I'm still very satisfied with the X10... it has its "quirks" but I'm getting a lot out of it so I'm not being overly judgmental ...

... with the exception of watching jealously from a distance as my husband plays Angry Birds for hours -.- lol

But if I did have one complaint, it would be that the X10 really does seem unlikely to ever make the jump to 2.2 :\ I mean it's been rumored it never will but I really feel in my gut that it might be true.

I'm not upset though. I'm hanging in there with SE. I've been with them a loooong time. I -will- buy another SE product. I'm weird like that :P haha

Not long to go now

But in terms of SE - they make GREAT phones, but let themselves down on the software side at times

K750i - Great as first cybershot phone, 2mp camera - centre toggle button was crap, software slow
K800i - Excellent 3.2mp camera, again, centre toggle and software plus the whole JAMES BOND thing
K850i - Again, great step up, but corner touch buttons unresponsive (kinda like our screen now)
C905 - dodgy call quality due to rubbish earpiece speakers (ring a bell)
Satio - All touch screen, 12mp camera (symbian s60 software - huge mistake)

I could rattle through the dodgy Walkman series that had a few minor flaws too, W800, W810, W990, W595

Yes these are ALL sony phones that i have had (amongst others)

They were all GREAT phones in their own right, but each had their own FLAWS too - but the bottom of it when all considered - they were still better than the alternatives at the time - and as far as the X10 goes, its better than the rest for 2 reasons - it LOOKS better, and out of the 4" models, its seriously easier and feels better to hold

So bottom line is - i WILL get SE again, simply because they don't do what everyone else does

(example - HTC: Desire, Wildfire, Desire HD - all too similar in design - not individual enough - and feel HORRIBLE to hold)

Thats a great post. I had a k750 and a c902. Both were great phones in their own way. The x10 is like you said different from the rest. When 2.1 it will be even better and when/if 2.2 comes out it will be pretty much awesome I think.
It has its flaws but so does every phone. Just look at the iphone 4 and people seem to really like that phone.

I'll second this. I think my phone-line went something like this; Alcatel > Sagem > Samsung > Sharp > Sony Ericsson > Sony Ericsson > Sony Ericsson. And as long as SE are still in the market I reckon I'll keep buying their phones. I've had a Z550i, W705i and now the X10i and I've loved them all. The Z550i and W705i were as tough as nails and really did take some drunken beatings, contained the greatest legacy-mobile OS I've ever used and looked great. Maybe I should have waited for the "X12" for Sony to get a better grip on the Android side of things but I don't really care. The X10 is great in my mind.

Same here... my Z550i has had a hard life too and still does it all with no fuss. Wife has a SE T715 and it also is proving to be a good product as well.:)

Some X10s seem to have more troubles than others. Sometimes it can be the user but one I was looking at today with different carrier to mine was not as fast and some apps would not work at all... not good. It could be something that carrier has installed in it???

Like others i'm basically happy with my X10 and for all that it can do it is a good phone. I am not saying that SE could not have done a better job on it though, there are a few simple things that are just dumb! ... like the AC power plug... the usb connector goes in the "side" and the adaptor is shaped so it takes up two spaces on a power board!!:mad: Come onnnn!!

I had an LG phone for a few years and that still is my favourite... loved it, tough, reliable as could be and very easy to use.

I'm not really a huge fan of this design either but I think you'll find a lot of newer electronics seem to be employing it, :(

My netbook has a plug where you can release the prongs from the adapter and re-attach them at another angle in order to fit the plug into an available outlet no matter what's plugged in around it.

The design may sound hokey, but it really isn't. It's quite sturdy and reliable, and has never given me issues. Kinda neat :)

Yeah a lot of the newer Acer netbooks at work use this. It's actually quite good I find because it can adapt to any power point situation, not matter how dire the problem may be :p
