Root [ROM] ApeX V1.0 for Droid X - An AOSP Experience (10/20/10)

I did a search and can't find much on this

signature verification failed

I dl the rom < install update zip < signature verification failed

any idea what to do?

I also did the OTA when it came out. I figured the bootloader is the problem but I'm not techy.

thanks in advance

I am using clockworks Rom Manager.

apply sdcard:update.zip

The only options I have are

reboot system now
apply sdcard update
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

Had apex running for about 15 mins and it seemed really smooth but I got 5 reboots in that short period of time. Does overclocking damage the processor at all? Seems like my phone has been acting a little jerky lately. I've turned the clicking down a little and can't seem to fix it.

well this is an extremely smooth ROM. looks and feel great. thanks! couple of questions though:

1. my favorite contacts don't seem to show up in the "People" widget from Launcher Pro
2. are your REVO and NexTheme themes the only ones that will work with this rom? or can i install Blackmodz Returns from ROM Manager?

thanks again.

Anyone?

You can use whatever themes you want. Some themes will re install some of the BLUR components if you don't remove it from the theme before you install it though

Anyone know how to disable the stock overclock so I can use jrummys overclock too. When I do the overclock- off it turns it off for oc on reboot. But when I try to use jrummys tool to set on boot it just goes back to stock. I can overclock fine using jrummys too. Just won't stick on boot. It worked fine when on tranquility. Has to be an issue with the built in oc with this rom

so here's my setup. i honestly wasn't crazy about the REVOlution theme at first, but i decided to go with it and came up with this. really liking it. still a work in progress cuz i'm still setting up Apex to my liking, but yea.

the LPP widgets are a modded version of this: DroidX-LauncherPro-0.8.1.1.apk

click to embiggen:

I'm getting the syncing icon constantly even though it doesn't appear to be syncing anything? Do I need to just wipe this and start over?

(I don't recall it being there initially after the install of everything, but its been there now for like the past 6 hours.)

Is the installation process for the Revolution theme for Apex still the same as it is listed here? [Theme] REVOlution for Droid X Froyo 2.2 R2 (9/14/2010)

Also, if I install the Rev theme, will I lose the vanilla lock sliders that came with Apex? If so, how do I get it back?

Thank you!

Fab has this theme in rom manager now. so you should be able to install it from there. i dont run it so i dont know if the sliders are changed. however i think you can use fabs mod here http://androidforums.com/droid-x-al...2-2-stock-lockscreen-dialer-sliders-mods.html
do change them back using metamorph.

Nevermind. I fixed.my problem. Got jrummys overclock to work. Deleted fabs overclock.ko, setscaling.sh and install-recovery.sh.

I just used the script overclock -off which worked like a charm in permanently disabling Fab's overclock. Jrummy is running fine after that, even after a reboot.

Thanks Tom. I can do it through bootstrap so I don't have to download another app. I wonder about the sliders though.

If anyone else knows, please let me know.

Thanks!

REVO replaces your lockscreen sliders. you can see them in the screenshot i posted above.

Hey guys for some reason my vibrate won't work on my texts anymore? I just noticed it today. Any help on this?

just got this issue today. not sure the cause of it, but I couldn't get vibrate to work anymore. I'm in the process of a full wipe and restore now.

Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know the cause and/or fix?

Vibration is controlled within the apps now instead of from the sound menu

thanks, but this has nothing to do with the issue. All was well(been running this since it was released) and out of the blue vibration just ceased. After doing a full wipe and reinstalling it's back to normal.

I'm just curious as to a possible cause and/or fix to remedy if it happens again.

ok cool, I was just putting it out there, because upon a wipe, the vibration modes for gmail, and sms are turned off within the apps, and turning vibration on under sound in the main menu doesn't override it. It has caused some confussion in the past.

Press and hold on your screen select widgets and select power control...

I did it and yes after I turn off the sync the boxes went away...turn it back on and the boxes came back :D

I love it when the solution is so easy and obvious that I'm left feeling like a complete moron. Thanks for the friendly help all. Back to good!
