where are market apps stored?

Curious as to where the apks for apps downlaoded from market are stored?

-App drawer
-Files
-Phone files

You will find a lot of crap in there you can delete . Not a lot in the line of apps but some weird stuff gets thrown in there.

The apps located in system/app are stock apps.

Downloaded apps are stored in data/app.

I have a non rooted my touch 3g with Android 2.1. I have downloaded many free market apps and cannot find them on my phone.

I have Astro file manager loaded and the data directory appears empty. I can see all of the stock apps in system/app.

I want to transfer these to my new Xoom.

Use astro to backup the apps to SD card. Then you will have the apks. Easier just to download them again.

You can try AppMonster. I use it to backup apks.
