Update coming, but not 2.2

I know people who know people ;)

FWIW, NKT definitly knows people, he was a huge help during the Eris leaking fiasco and new more than anyone else for whatever sneaky reasons he had. Also speaking of the Eris leak Fiasco, im definitly scared to put a leak on any of my phones ever again.

OK I didn't see that on the list, that one I'll keep. On a side note I picked up CoPilot for 4.99 as a backup GPS what stores the maps on my sd. The best 4.99 app on the market if you ask me
+1 On CoPilot. If only it would speak street names /exit numbers. But it has a great visual display.

FYI on the vibration, it will be gone if you flash the CWM Kernel built for DI01. We will need a new CWM based on DJ05. Near as I could tell, that was the only variance with CWM and the new firmware.

jt just uploaded DJ05 as a clean rom cwm zip including inside is a DJ05 kernel so all is well with the world

Straight from the horses mouth: @jt|southpark> PLEASE DO NOT SHARE LINKS TO DJ05 MATERIAL OUTSIDE OF THIS CHANNEL

So for those who PM'd sorry go to the source

Tell us about djo5, saps. What do you see in your Fascinate different than other versions, in the real world? ;)

Now my gps was ok before I got lock ins usually in less than 10 seconds and usually accurate to 2meters. But as we all know this was not universal. Many, many people who have 1+ minute delays and or accurate like 2900 feet are now reporting 10 second locks and massive accuracy improvement, Id say that the number one thing peeps are crushing on.
Everything else is just nice, now admittedly Im coming from being used to the recent kernels from jt and geeknik and while jt's clean rom v.2 for DJ05 has a Dj05 compatible kernel its not as snappy as before. I'll give him a day to straighten that out.
Lets see what else. The web browser is darker in the address bar like a lot darker gray almost black, probably going to get a fix.
Soft key lights do stay light as long as screen as we knew from the update doc which was floating around.
Some people who had audio cracklin seem to be saying its not there although poweramp also got an update yesterday so YMMV on that one. So overall I dont notice maybe as much change per se again because I went from jt's clean rom on DI01 to his clean DJ05. If anything because this new kernel seems to be closer to stock than previous it almost feels slower to me; but those who didnt use the kernels report it is smoother and faster for them so you kinda have to test drive it for yourself and see.

irc channel is #samsung-fascinate only place to get it because I think we all respect jt's wishes and so for the time being it will not be linked outside of there, not even xda

Thanks for all that, saps.

"Soft key lights do stay lit as long as screen as we knew from the update doc which was floating around" is all I need, everything else, including GPS, is fine on mine.

Then you will be a happy camper ;)

I can't find it. Other than that, I'm having a heck of a time. :D
its there or ask for a link inside there someone will pull it down it gets linked like every hour, shoot if you pop in right now ask me I'll link it

I'm pretty in and out, it's a moving target.

I wonder when XDA will pick it up.
Hopefully not soon, jt specifically asked it not go to xda for the moment, when the modem was published that was highly frowned upon. I mean yeah stuff leaks and all and yes it will end up on xda Im sure

heres hoping it stays irc only

Is anyone allowed to describe the install process if we have jt's DJ05 clean file as well as the new modem.tar file already retrieved from IRC? Do we just flash jt's file thru CWR and it automatically updates to the new baseband?

lol .. anyway, I'm just getting disconnects from the server.. I need to find another one more stable (trying several, including freenode, etc).
