Root [ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

Battery life hasn't been very good with this rom.. i'm using the version that didn't require the leak. not sure what the problem is.. normal usage and i'm not getting a full day. i have brightness set low, and all understandable settings that would help me conserve battery life. i was getting longer out of the 1.0 apex, but had a bunch of reboots each day. i haven't had a reboot yet with this new version it's just the battery life i'm not sure about ..?

See if anything is hogging your battery...my battery life has been amazing after installing it today...5 hours of pretty heavy use, 50%

First off let me say that you've let me love my phone again! I've gotten incredibly pissed off with all of the shoddy Motorola software, but was always reluctant to go stripping it out myself because I didn't want to lose some of the highlights (like HDMI). So this ROM was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank You!!!

I upgraded to 1.0.2.2 from 1.0 last night (and this time I used Titanium Backup! Much less painful that way!), and I've been loving it so far since you fixed pretty much every complaint I had about 1.0 AND added some awesomeness like the transitions. (Take THAT, iPhone loving co-workers!) I did notice something strange though: Previously when my phone was docked (Media dock, not car) the screen would never turn off, which was nice. Since the upgrade to 1.0.2.2, though, the only time the screen stays on is if I'm on the dock home (I use the Moto one). If an app like Pandora is running the screen goes off and the phone locks after a minute as if it weren't plugged in.

Maybe I'm simply being forgetful and missed a setting somewhere, but I though that the default behavior was to keep the screen on if the phone is charging. Am I missing some setting or was this a change in the ROM?

Are apps like Social Networking, Skype, Power widget, news and weather, photo widget, rate places supposed to show up?

I installed just fine, and at first things looked blurless. However, all my apps started syncing from the market and later I noticed all the above-mentioned apps come back.

I did not use Ti Backup.

EDIT

Also, At first, it only showed ADW as the home launcher. Later, the blur launcher and something called blur helper show up.

Also, is there any way to set the default launcher to launcher pro? I tried changing the setting in home switcher, but on the home button it always goes back to ADW.

Yeah, I use Launcher Pro as my home.

Go to your [Settings->Applications->Manage Applications] and either the "Running" or "All" tab and find ADW Launcher. Under that click on the "Clear Defaults" button under "Launch by default". Then the next time you press home it will prompt you for which to use with a checkbox to make it the default.

Fab - ok so... I did find a problem... I went to record a video tonight and when I pressed the record button in the camcorder it kicked me back to the home screen... so I was like wtf... so then I got curious, I went into pictures and when I take a picture it doesnt save the image... it saves something (looks like just the file info (name, timestamp, permissions) but the file size is zero) but no image...
any ideas?

NexTheme question: Is is just me or are only half of the icons when you hit Menu from the home screen colored? What happened to the color on Add, Notifications, and Preferences?

attachment.php

I noticed the same thing. The browser menu is missing some themed icons as well.

i was worried for awhile, because the installation doesn't include mount/unmount step

well everything is working. thanks Fab

hey fab i dont know if its a bug or if i was just something with my setup but after flashing 1.0.22 i realize that i could no longer view flash through any of my browsers so i thought this as odd so all though flash is imbedded in 2.2 i made sure i had the latest version from the market and still no flash so i remembered earlier in the thread you suggested a script to turn ad block off

su
sys -rw
rm /system/etc/hosts
sys -ro
reboot

so i thought let me try this and after rebooting i now have flash back ...like i said i dont know if anyone else is having this issue but this worked for me

Anyone having camera issues? When I take a pic the pic will be blank in the gallery. Other then that great rom so far

OK so I see one other person is having the same issue I am finding. Is anyone else running into this issue at all?
Camera saves a blank image which has a 0 file size and in camcorder the record button kicks you back to the home screen.

My camera and camcorder are both working fine (on 1.0.2.2)
I did have the camcorder problem just after the 2.2ota. I think (in that case, at least) that something was corrupt on my sd card. After a format of the card, the problem never returned.
FWIW.

does anyone have the leak file for 2.2.1 ? i went to the links but they are dead
edit ...disregard i believe i can just sbf to update
