Root [ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

yeah I DID flash the 2.3.15 ApeX version (hence why im on ApeX build number 1.0.2.1)
and I dont want to flash the new 2.3.320 version until I get back to my work computer that RSD works on or I can figure out how to get it to work on my laptop.
sounds like Im stuck with no media until I get back to work next week... ug

im pretty sure if you flashed the 2.3.15 it would say apex 1.0.22 as mine does and not 1.0.2.1...are you sure you flashed the proper one ....i also asked this because i believe i remember fab saying if you are on 2.3.15 and flash the version for the leak then your media will not work

yes im am 100% sure. the FIRST released build of apex for 2.3.15 was build number 1.0.2.1
apex with 1.0.2.x is for 2.3.15
apex with 1.2.x is for the 2.3.32

he changed it to 1.0.2.2 when he fixed the blur contacts thing which I had already done. maybe he changed more in it too... if you look back through the first couple pages though you can see where he talks about the blur contacts thing

I think the sync icon may be sraying on for some other reason. Mine won't go away anI only use Titanium Backup to backup and restore apps, never system data. But I did find that thiis only happening when I use the Revo Theme. Yesterday I applied NexTheme and thr icon only appeared while syncing then when I went back to Revo it came back and won't go away again. Could it be something with the theme?

i see this now ...i did not know he changed it ....hmmm very odd indeed ...and i would say to flash now but as you say not until you get to work.....try another music player or another gallery and see if it happens or maybe restore a backup :confused:

anything 1.0.2.x is for 2.3.15, so your kernel should be supporting media...

you say you didn't update to the leak, but did you try JRummy's Rx rom? I believe his file updated users to the leak kernel and bootloader.

EDIT: err this is directed at ECF

I'm not using any themes and it won't go away. I used Titanium for the same thing, just apps, never system data. Weird...

no, the only rom i've ever put on was ApeX
my bootloader is 30.04 but it is a refurb phone (had to get a warranty replacement) that I got just a couple weeks ago
kernel version is
2.6.32.9-g23d7ba5

which shows different from your OP which should ALSO show I have 2.3.15
I think im gonna try to make a backup of what I have now and go back to the backup before ApeX and see if it works.
 
well, good news, I went back to my deodeed nandroid, and tried media/camera, and it worked. so I downloaded apex 1.0.2.2 and installed it. now my camera and media work perfect. so maybe there was an issue with my download of 1.0.2.1 or maybe something that was going on in 1.0.2.1 itself...but either way im back to good now. thanks all for your help

Alright I have everything updated on the leak, but I can not figure out the best way to get this overclocked, not that I need it, but I like to brag. I know Fab has his overclocked, what is the easiest way to do this on 2.3?

+1, I use JRummy's app to set the overclock, SetCPU to manage profiles.
 
Flashed the SBF file a little while ago. Installed ApeX 1.2. Restored apps+data with TIBU.

Had an issue with the market which seems to have fixed itself some how.

EDIT: What was the fix for the Google Voice texting and calling etc?

I just installed Google 'Voice Search' from the market. It installed an update and works flawlessly.

A couple people mentioned renaming the voicesearch.apk to voicesearch.bak first, but I didn't even do that.
 
I am getting FC all over the place. Diaper FC everytime you access it. And now the com.android.phone is FCing. When I used apex 1.0.2.2 everthing worked great. Once I went to 1.2.1 its hasn't been good.

Before going to 1.2.1 I sbf backed to 2.3.15, did the 2.3.30 sys update to get to the 30.04. Then used the released full 2.3.30 sbf, zrooted, flashed Apex 1.2.1 and follwed the directions and then installed the REVOlution theme.

I did full wipes of data and cache after the sbfs.

nah i have LPP and mine works. kinda wish there was a way to switch back though. they get a little distracting. :) i love the popup flyin though.
 
Not sure if it is ROM related, but I can't send or receive email. First time this has happened, only after installing the ROM. Anyone run into any email issues?
