Help New Update HTC Desire

I have an unlocked desire, updated the firmware to 2.29.405.2 and now can't connect to wifi, it just says error under Wireless and Networks so I can't even set up the WIFI again.

Does anyone else have this issue? Any resolution?

In fact, it's now hanging on the white startup scene.

Gonna try a factory reset from switch on; if I can find the instructions . . . . . .

you took the update without having your gold card in.
my guess is this was a branded device and got unbranded as this is a WWE unbranded update.

never flash without gold card, it breaks wifi and other things

I am using a HTC Desire Debranded and I too had this problem after running the OTA update to version 405.2.
I did not have a gold card in my phone when I ran the update and a few posts have suggested that this is the reason WiFi gets stuffed up.
I downloaded the full ROM for this version from Shipped ROMs:

I then put a gold card in my phone and ran the ROM upgrade.
Of course these steps completely erase the phone, but everything worked fine again after I did this.
